First off, I wish nothing but the best outcome for Nancy and her family. Yes, it’s a horrific nightmare.
But the situation makes one realize that there are important people and irrelevant ones. The police and FBI have used every resource, spare no expense. Probably spending millions on finding Nancy and her abductor. No timeline. I’m curious about how much effort they would make if one of our mothers went missing.
Okay, let me be reasonable. Famous people are more newsworthy. That’s why this is constantly featured on all the major news stations. I got it. And it places the law enforcement and FBI under a microscope. They want to appear on top of it. Using every resource.
Hope Nancy will return to her family soon!
So, that is just the way it is… I'm sure there's a song in this for you songwriting critters.
John

I accidentally deleted Fdemetrio's post. Sorry. I did purposely deleted JAPOV's post because it had absolutely nothing to do with this topic. In fact, his quotes were from another thread.

My words are usually one of a kind.
Basicly said, no, nobody would give a [naughty word removed] if it wasn't a celebrity Sometimes it can make the news, but for all the resources being used its gonna need a celeb.
Some woman said same thing to me the other night

I like the idea. This is pretty quick and dirty. Feel free to jump in an polish these lines. When No One’s Watchin'https://soundclick.com/song/15198568Verse 1: Another mom goes missin’ down a quiet little street No cameras flashin’, no reporters at her feet Some folks pray in silence, some folks cry alone While the world just scrolls past on their phones Pre-Chorus: But when the spotlight shines on a famous name The world shows up, and it plays a different game Chorus: When no one’s watchin’, do they still care? Do they send the searchlights, do they get there? Or is it just a number in a file somewhere? Yeah, the world moves on, but it’s never fair Every mother lost deserves a fight Not just the ones the cameras like Verse 2: She’s just a mom, like mine or yours But headlines scream while other stories get ignored They’ll spare no expense, leave no stone unturned But how many cries go unheard? Pre-Chorus: It’s hard not to notice, hard not to see How fame changes everything, even tragedy Chorus: When no one’s watchin’, do they still care? Do they send the searchlights, do they get there? Or is it just a number in a file somewhere? Yeah, the world moves on, but it’s never fair Every mother lost deserves a fight Not just the ones the cameras like Bridge: I hope she comes home safe, that’s the prayer we raise But I won’t forget the ones who slip away It shouldn’t take a name that the world will know To get the heroes out there, to make the searchlights glow Chorus: When no one’s watchin’, do they still care? Do they send the searchlights, do they get there? Or is it just a number in a file somewhere? Yeah, the world moves on, but it’s never fair Every mother lost deserves a fight Not just the ones the cameras like Outro: So light a candle for the ones unseen Every missing heart deserves to be seen

That is the danger, when one becomes famous and rich, it leaves loved ones in danger of being kidnapped by every low life out there. Sad.

Rob B,
I don't come by here often but I could not pass up commenting on this song... This is the epitome of how to write a song ...superb structure touching all the bases The line that really hit home ....While the world just scrolls past on their phones...that wraps up, completely, where society is today
One of the best lyrics I've read in a long time
Thanks for this Rob
Steve

Make the searchlights glow???
Really really nice.....Rob
WRT topic.....I expect adult kidnappings like this are rare.....so when one happens...it does hit the news Perhaps the lasting power is in the celebrity angle?
And Steve picked a great line....it resonated with me as well
Oh and I noticed that with this one and some of the last few you posted...sounds very close to Jason Mraz
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Steve Steve, That really means a lot - especially coming from you. I’m glad that line resonated. It felt like a simple observation, but also something that quietly sums up a lot of what we’re all experiencing right now. When someone connects with a lyric like that, it makes the whole writing process worthwhile. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and say that. Truly appreciated. Rob

Timing is everything, right? As for the topic - I honestly don’t know how often something like that happens, but the fact that even in Europe it’s all over the news says something. That’s not normal. I do think the celebrity angle amplifies it. And regarding the Jason Mraz comparison - I’ve never consciously tried to copy him. But I’ll happily take it! I just love songs that make you bounce in your chair a little - that lift and groove feeling. For this one, the magical prompts were "funky bass" and "syncopated drums". Honestly, I think it’s one of the strongest tracks Suno has generated for me so far. Really appreciate the thoughtful listen. Rob

John If your poor zero would be spent , thats life, celebrity's are more important then us , thats also life. There's no guardians angels , it's a myth to make us feel safer. Theres's no such thing, things happen for a reason , And there's no such thing as fate , there both myths. One door closes another one reopens , thats true and always happens .
