Thanks Rob, Kay-lynn, Elvis, Bill....

updated lyric...have at er and help me polish this one up please

cows playing all comers,

goal is a SUNO production I can do a video to

The Farm Team

Lazy days of summer brings our team onto the field
Fans all have our favourites, we support them with our cheers
bet you didn't know our farm back forty field of dreams
brings out every soul for miles, they jam into the seats

The cows ain't chewin’ tobacco, far too busy with their cud
They're taking on all challengers from all around the farm
Gus the Goose is rounding first he's flying down the line
Where Bill the Bull is waiting for him squarely in his sights

chorus
The chickens all have flown the coop, the barn doors closed too late
when cows come home they will have shown they're not too slow to play
they're all on the back forty shagging flies like stubborn mules
you gotta love the farm team playing the all American game

Billy Goat will headbutt balls then kick his can and run
Thumper gets to hop to first it's hard to find his zone
No one wants to hit to shortstop everybody fears
The trusty family dog who's been shagging flies for years

Dicky Donkey needed some encouragement to run=====not sure
We'll trade you to the Abbatoir Braves if you don't=======this really works
While duck quacked from the sidelines, dawdling waddlers dropping doos
T-bone adds some action to his slider with manure

chorus
The chickens all have flown the coop, the barn doors closed too late
when cows come home they will have shown they're not too slow to play
they're all on the back forty shagging flies like stubborn mules
you gotta love the farm team playing the all American game

everyone's got a role to play except the baryard cat
far too busy sleeping, chasing mice, and the flying kind of bat

there's only one place better on a lazy afternoon
that's with the farm team on the road to play the local zoo

Well you need a ump , it's a ball game , yeah manure was me. Why don't you try a 6 line v2 to get to chorus quicker , I think you already have enough animals in there

The ump squints hard in the afternoon sun
Calls a strike on a pitch that missed by a ton
Barn doors rattle when the crowd all roars
He dusts off the plate and calls one more

You already had manure in v2 , try that

This is an ambitious project John. Good on ya!
Will be fun to watch. Elvis is a skilled suno driver. Haven’t listened yet.

Can you try something more blue grassy...? little faster
No dip at the end of the verses...maybe more verse variation?
Dunno what is possible so ....

ok my 2 cents......... (cus I'm a little anal)... I don't think the animals need names... You can just say the pig did this and the goat did that and here comes the rat from the barn........... also...if you're gonna do the kind of song I think you are, you can't waste any lines repeating themselves. Fun song, I dig it.....if you want me to butt out I will. LOL

ie..The Farm Team

Lazy days of summer brings our team onto the field
Fans all have our favourites, we support them with our cheers
bet you didn't know our farm back forty's diamond dreams<<< back forty #1
brings every soul for miles around all jammed into the seats

The cows ain't chewin’ tobacco, far too busy with their cud<< nothing to do with the game
They're taking on all challengers from all around the farm
Gus the Goose is rounding first he's flying down the line
Where Bill the Bull is waiting for him squarely in his sights

chorus
The chickens all have flown the coop, the barn doors closed too late<< 1st line of chorus should be stronger since the chickens aren’t playing the game anyway

when cows come home they will have shown they're not too slow to play
they're all on the back forty shagging flies like stubborn mules<<< shaggin flies #1 Back forty#2
you gotta love the farm team playing the all American game

Billy Goat will headbutt balls then kick his can and run<<< headbutt balls too hard to sing
Thumper gets to hop to first it's hard to find his zone
No one wants to hit to shortstop everybody fears<<<<love this, who’s the shortstop?
The trusty family dog who's been shagging flies for years<<< shaggin flies #2

The ump was calling balls and strikes his glasses on the fritz<< whos the ump? (rat?)
Safes and outs were thrown about when anybody hit
Ducks quacked from the sidelines, dawdling waddlers dropping doos << Dawdling waddlers? Mouthful

T-bone adds some action to his slider with manure <, which animal is T-bone

everyone's got a role to play except the baryard cat
far too busy sleeping, chasing mice, and the flying kind of bat

Chime on Kay Lynn

but the cows chewing cud vs tobacco is perfect because in real baseball, chewing tobacco is\still is among some all the rage so to speak.
ALL baseball fans will get the connection instantly

The cows are taking on all comers...T-bone is pitching...

Hope the video can take care of some questions...

There are places in the lyric that I THINK are phrased in a way that SUNO uses to maintain some mathematical symmetry (found that in our Reap What You Sow song)
So I think if phrasing is something to deal with, it may have to be done lyrically ...dunno

So all help welcome in making this a fun song Kay Lynn

Ahh yes, I get the tobacco reference now... my bad...........

I stand by that they don't need names though... cus it doesn't add anything to the visual and just takes up syllables.

I'll play with it a little just for fun.... its my day off today so... what the hell. (smile)

Thank you so much for taking a stab at this

I like the sparsity of words here getting the picture across Kay-lynn. You and Bob can both bring that out nicely

wrt music, I like what Elvis put up last....closest to what I thinking...yours is fun ...and has that great opening...have a take in mind for the video...it can open with the classic "Take me out to the ballgame" melody line which I have to think had a CC license version somewhere....

so let me take another stab using that idea...but I have no issue really with naming the animals playing because of the video...

Oh and do yourself a favour. Go to the other place to listen to Couch's Desdemona Motel....

Going for another rewrite I think...just a little slow...am working on my personal and corporate year ends to calculate my HST (we have sales taxes to calculate and pay) ...then off for a few days

I like how Kay lynn condensed the picture a bit...will try that. Will also test the theory that SUNO makes choices based on time...which is fascinating because knowing the algorithm helps in its use.

ahh....when I did the video, I found SUNO to be very exact in how it structures a song

So if it has say 5 seconds before the next part...and X words of a lyric to express...it MAY use the standard if\then to produce music a certain way vs if it had sing X-2 words

The test would be to use fewer words with the same prompts to see what happens to the melody\phrasing

I am of the school that believes lyric drives rhythm\meter ..then melody...so that thought ocurred to me

The SUNO output algorithm has to be set up in some sequential way...so it makes sense to me...even if it may not be true LOL

If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
