DON'T BRING ME UPhttps://suno.com/s/DpFs8SDMKUz2gIJ0[Verse] I’m not claiming to be perfect, but I know who I am Got a mind full of stories, got a world in my hands I don’t preach from a mountain, don’t pretend I’m divine But I’ve read a few chapters more than you’ve read in your time [Pre-chorus] And I’ve seen you shouting shadows Acting like they’re chasing you down… But every line you throw just circles back around [Chorus] So don’t bring me up if you don’t want the truth Don’t spin your fiction like you got some proof If you call my name, then I’ll call you out But if you stay quiet, I’ll fade right out I’ve got better things, better dreams, better love to live up So don’t bring me up Don’t bring me up [Break] [Verse] You’ve been talking in circles like a prophet on the street Throwing lines at every stranger that you happen to meet Building castles out of chaos, thinking nobody sees But the story that you’re telling tells more about you than me [Pre-chorus] You say you’re taking the high road But you’re driving it into the ground And every time I leave, you drag my name around [Chorus] So don’t bring me up if you don’t want the truth Don’t spin your fiction like you got some proof If you call my name, then I’ll call you out But if you stay quiet, I’ll fade right out I’ve got better things, better dreams, better love to live up So don’t bring me up Don’t bring me up [Bridge] I’m moving on, got miles to go Got places calling my soul But if you light the fuse, just know You’ll hear the echo [Interlude] [Final chorus] Don’t bring me up if you don’t want the truth Don’t spin your story like I asked you to You keep calling out shadows, starting your fights But I’m living my days, I’m living my nights I’ve got better things, better dreams, better love to live up So don’t bring me up Don’t bring me up [Outro] Don’t bring me up

This one wasn’t about me — it was inspired by two other guys here at this site going at it for days like an Olympic sport. I figured if they can turn drama into cardio, I can turn it into a song.

Quite a lyric Rob lol some great lines there. A few acerbic thoughts well delivered. There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about. - Oscar Wilde I can't listen to the full song at the minute but I will do later. John

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Oscar Wilde

John Hi John, thanks for the positive feedback. I have to give a bit of credit to Marty — his post was full of the kind of little bits and pieces that can spark a good song. The title is actually a direct quote from him. Suno did a great job with the music too; the sound is very current, and the vocalist has a bit of a Justin Bieber vibe. If you get a moment, it’s definitely worth a listen. All the best, Robert

If I take ideas from a chat conversation and write a song based on what was said, do I need to officially give the people involved in that chat any songwriting credits?

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
