Hi all.....I have a new one. Please let me know what you think. As usual, all comments are appreciated, while first impressions are most welcome 8) Thanks, in advance! “It Ain’t With Me”Words & Music by Thomas Tognaci https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14642424The lights are on, is there no one home? I see a flickering light Where have you gone? Am I on my own with you high as a kite? You’re always somewhere else, my darling Somewhere lost in the stars Maybe lost between our worlds but wherever you are …. it ain’t with me The social scene with all its pretense has always been something more you The wolves convene and you jump the fence to get a better view You’re always there to spar, my darling It’s never us, or we It’s always you against the world And, while you always agree …. it ain’t with me A once upon a long time ago I fell for love and a face We came undone in the undertow and washed up in this place You’re always to and fro, my darling The changing tides, you say You may come and go as you please but if you come to stay it ain’t with me

I think this is the most "country" sounding song I've heard you do. Very nice! I think I saw John Wayne on the beach pouring sand out of his boots once

Thanks for listening and commenting...........country? Maybe. And I might have been mistaken, but I think I once saw an alien pop it's head out of the Rio Grand.

Great job man , Best one from you yet . Probably more in the Alt country genre, then mainstream

Love the string hammering to get that groove going Tom...very nice and clean vocals and instruments...and nice harmoinica...
Don't "hear" country...more like british folk of the 70s and 80s
and really like the next one that plays...with those talented musers The Corking Crackers... has strains of Sweet Home Alabama running through it
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

This isn't supposed to be "country" Maybe just a slight seasoning of country, but definitely folk rock. And thanks to you both for listening.... this place has lately become more of an AI exhibition.

Hi IronKnee, I enjoyed listening to this one. The intro reminded me of a Simon and Garfunkel song. Your voice is a perfect fit. I love how deep it goes when you sing the hook line. The harmonica and the vocal harmonies are awesome. There's not much here that I would change. This is a great piece of art.
All the best - Robert

Excellent Tom!
A solid ballad that lyrically is vague, yet that is cool given the title and allows the listener to imagine or relate in their own way. You have some great lines here. Your music chugs along like a like a horse's canter--smooth.....
Just a thought on one lyric: "Its always you against the world And while you always agree.... (And when you finally do agree) It ain't with me
Unless I'm missing the point, it would seem that if she's against the world in many views........she wouldn't be the type to "always" agree?
Great song Tom!

steady-eddie Hey there Steady.....well, you see, with this woman, when it comes to our hero, it's her against the world......and everyone always seems to make their point with her. Except our hero. Our hero always seems to be on the losing side of the argument. I hope this helps. Thanks for always listening and commenting......(I feel better already ;-) )
