Hi Folks,

I am very sad to report that Niteshift (Geoff Wood) has passed away in Australia. Geoff was one of our longest term members and along with Graham our first two Aussie members. I received the program for his funeral on December 6th from his partner Debbie.

This one hits me hard. His last message to me was asking how all his friends here on the boards we doing when our site was last down.

If I find out more information, I will post it here.

Brian

Yes, we have been together so long it is losing family. I wish I could entice people to return as most folks are all over Facebook but we can't seem to get them back here. Being down for 10 months really spread folks to the wind.

One of my favorite people here on JPF. We had some good talks. Yes, he had a bar Island. He posted a photo of me on the wall in his bar - like I was some famous person - ha, ha. I'll miss you Geoff! R.I.P. I remember when he purchased this piano. He was very proud of it. Here's a photo he sent me: [Linked Image from schicksville.com] http://schicksville.com/Geoff%27s%20Piano.jpg (I reckon you'll have to cut & paste the address in your browser)

Here is his funeral in FIJI: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088460678705

His partner Debbie and family would love to hear from any of you who were friends with Geoff with a note there. I posted as well. He was part of JPF for over 25 years, though his join date here was 2006, he was already a member via email etc. going back to 1997. This board turns 25 in January as well. That is a long time and he was 2.5 weeks younger than me so it hits home for sure. Hopefully, God willing, we will all meet in the next stage of things. He was a really kind and supportive guy.

It's sad not only for him and his family, but because it seems the only news that will come here is somebody else has passed. It's kind of like an old age home.

I remember him as being brief and non confrontational. Seemed like a good guy. R.I.P.

Yesterday we lost Wyman Lloyd Griffith as well. I had reached out to no answer on Dec 10th and again today only to see in the course of 3 days he passed Dec 11th. I was worried, as he was 91.

Now Wyman too? Man this is sad news. I guess not unexpected we start losing folks because as a group we are definitely aging (way to go to 91 Wy...hope it was all good)

Kaley worked a lot with Wy on children's songs. She must be devastated.

I tried to reach Kaley Willow but her website and email are defunct and I am worried about her as well. Does anyone know her real full name? If so please PM it to me.

Don't know if anyone goes through their old messages to see those last conversations.

Geoff wrote to me when he found out that my son had died from Leukemia at the age of 7 and it was heartfelt and kind. We chatted about things and then music and he said to me

"
All that I know, is that you're a great talent that needs a sounding board. Wherever that is, I don't know, but would be happy to work with you should the opportunity arise.

Stay safe bud, cos the world needs your soul."

What a nice gift to give me once upon a time........

Thank you Brian for restoring the site so that I can look at messages from my past here, many good times and people.

So true. He told me he felt so badly about no longer being able to take part in FAWM and the 50-90. They'd become very important to him.

He was a character for sure.

One of my best memories here is of the sometimes crazy and wide-ranging conversations he and John Schick and I used to have in shout box. smile

Thank you Brian for restoring the site so that I can look at messages from my past here, many good times and people.

Tammy

His very last note to me was "I miss my JPF friends" via Facebook. I never got another reply. He was 2 months younger than me and I never thought he would be gone, certainly not before me with all my health issues.

My intent was to leave, in my will, the money to keep this site up at least 10 years after I am gone. Sadly with the technical problems and with donations dwindling to very little, if another serious problem arises there would be no way to cover for the problem. I also would leave this to someone if we had someone young who would take the responsibility on.

As for you and all the others, rather than just lament the past here, I wish folks, a great number of which are still alive and well, would take a bit of their facebook and instagram time to be here more often. We could still make new memories. And we need to recruit young people to replace the older folks who have passed.

This board turns 25 years old in a few weeks. There aren't many creative community repositories such as this still up and running from the dawn of the internet. While countless Titans of tech have come and gone, we still chug along because those of you who still visit. Please continue to do so and interact here as well. There are always songs to be written and topics to banter.

John, I am worried about Kaley. Wyman was still here but she was gone long before him, at least as a regular participant. I feared she had passed. I don't think her last name was Willow, (there is no way for me to know) I always viewed it as a pen name.

So true. He told me he felt so badly about no longer being able to take part in FAWM and the 50-90. They'd become very important to him.

He was a character for sure.

One of my best memories here is of the sometimes crazy and wide-ranging conversations he and John Schick and I used to have in shout box. smile

Donna, I know you didn't join until '08 but were you on our email list before that? Geoff was going back to the 90's. I don't know who else still posting here pre-dates this message board with JPF. I have been doing this in one form or another since 1985, long before there WAS an internet!

No, I wasn't on the email list before 2008, Brian.

Very sad news frown
Wyman was such a supportive member. A fabulous writer. He wrote a lot with Kaley Willow, right? Geoff? Sad "Niteshift" wrote some awesome reviews for my CDs! So kind and supportive. Both LONG time members!
The list of passing JPF friends is growing. Grateful for the JPF friends I have made over the years.
Rest in Peace my friends
Love, Peace & Heavenly Music,
Joanne love

I'm so sorry to hear about Niteshift and Wyman. They were ever present on JPF as far as I was concerned, and both very talented.

Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to hear about Niteshift. We collaborated on some songs a few years ago. I thought he was fairly young. He was working on a resort on a cool island near Australia (was it Tahiti?).

Anyway, go like hell as long as you can.

So very sorry to hear of niteshift and Wy's passing. Both great talents. I often saw Wy at the FAWM sites and he has been missed over there. He was a great, supportive ally in the lyric writer's arena and a fine collaborator.

Colin, he was 58. Yes, he lived in Tahiti. He had been in poor health for a while. His last words to me were to say hi to his friends at JPF that he dearly missed. It breaks my heart we didn't get him back on in time.
