“Justify” Why is it so hard for others to accept what’s true Why is it so hard, can’t they understand the love I feel for you It’s not about being right or wrong, It’s about needing to move on Because this is a choice I’ve made of mine It’s not for other’s to decide Let it be known your rules don’t apply, You live your life and I’ll live mine Justify Justify Nothing here to justify You live your life, I’ll live mine We don’t need to see eye to eye I’ve respected your wishes, now you respect mine This is who I am, not changing my mind What’s it going to take for you to see? I can’t go on not living like me Take precautions, do what you need to do I’m moving on, there’s nothing I need to prove You’ve made your bed, now in it you lye, There’s nothing here to be justified Justify Justify Nothing here to justify You live your life, I’ll live mine We don’t need to see eye to eye Justify Justify Nothing here to justify I’m so tired of living a lie This is me so stop asking, “Why?”

A mystical, seductive sound. Any thoughts?

I only see one small issue with the lyric... "others, you, they..." It's a little confusing, who are you speaking to? I like the overall "universal" gist of the lyric, so I don't want to assume anything lol

Hi JAPOV! “Others” would be the general public or society.
I don’t like to be too specific with titles and names, because I want the lyrics to be accessible to everyone. In other words, leave the lyrics to their imagination, so they can translate the words and meaning how it relates to their own situation.

I really enjoyed these lyrics! Simple and to the point and a universal idea that I think a lot of people can relate to. Do you have any music in mind?

Hi Cecileemusic! Thank you for your response! I have a melody in mind, but I do not any music to go with the lyrics yet. Any suggestions?

Just a thought....
Why is it so hard for some to accept the truth Where's the sense of decency meant for me and you It’s not about being right or wrong Just accept me and move on
I've made my choice, made up my mind It’s not for other’s to decide We breathe the same air, the same rules apply You live your life and I’ll live mine
Justify Justify Nothing here to justify You live your life, I’ll live mine We don’t need to see eye to eye
I respect your wishes, now you respect mine I have every right, you cannot be so blind What’s it going to take for you to see I can’t go on if I can't live like me
Defend your freedom, trust I'll do the same Carry on and we'll both be unashamed The only injury is to your foolish pride There’s nothing here to be justified
Justify Justify Nothing here to justify You live your life, I’ll live mine We don’t need to see eye to eye
Justify Justify Nothing here to justify I’m so tired of living a lie This is me so stop asking, “Why?”

Hi JAPOV! Thank you for the suggestions, but I think your lyrics are just too gentle for the emotion I am trying to portray. This is more of an angry, rebellious song. Kind of like a Pat Benatar type song.

"Parents are notorious for telling you not to do something, but not telling you WHAT to do instead. So here are my thoughts. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, give it a manicure. Don't burn your bridges, go out and build more! And of course, Don't run with Scissors, use them to cut out your press clippings!" -Brian Austin Whitney
