John, slow and steady wins the race. I now have over 2000 songs with CCLI and the income is slowly rising and steady. I won't get rich but steady income is better than steady outlay. Five figures over the past several years.

Congrats with the CCLI. I see our songs at church always show CCLI. I wonder if they charge churches a fee for using that music, or the CCLI has other means of generating money. Best, John

John, CCLI charges a yearly fee to churches based on seating capacity. This gives permission to use any of the seven million plus songs registered with CCLI. Churches are then spot checked (much like radio) once or twice over a year to 18 months when they must report what songs they used for that week. Royalties are paid to song owners every six months. The value of each song changes per pay period based on money collected in that period. CCLI also charges schools that use the songs in concerts. They cover Australia, New Zealand, Europe, UK, Ireland, South Korea, South Africa, Canada and the USA.

Thanks Everett. That makes sense. Glad the composers make some money. John
