It would appear that way. Looks like I finally hit the "home run" I was looking for with this song. It's up for a JPF and Beachcomber award, and getting airplay world wide

Well, it points out the truth AND the obvious, something music and culture are no longer allowed to do. I think you can speak truth to the people (rather than power) and get much further than begging a bunch of elites for less slavery. Most every problem we can identify can easily be corrected by focusing on your own life, living the life you WANT to live, having kids and teaching them what YOU want them to know instead of allowing government agencies do it in your place via forced propaganda lessons in authoritarian schools. They don't prepare kids for life, they prepare them for subservience and slavery and to be good little citizens of an authoritarian state. They teach kids to memorize rules and memorize the facts preselected for them and to never question the only truth that is "official" and to just follow what others tell them to do. We used to make fun of kids who did stuff because that is what everyone else did. Remember the common sense lessons like "would you jump off a building too because all the other kids did?" to which even a small child would realize... "no mommy.. I wouldn't" but today it is the lemming rule.. if everyone else jumps, you better join them... or else. They are also taught that sticks and stones are illegal and thus can't hurt you but names.. nothing is worse than being called a name and it wounds you deeply and may kill you.
We used to know that even a 6 year old would know that is BS... but now criminalizing words is the law of the land around the world and more and more in the USA.
How do we fix it? By teaching kids the truth, knowing they are smart enough to still think (the equipment is there, just show them how to use it) and not "force-dumbing" them down into groupthink oblivion.

Born in freedom's bondage, shackled from the start, Branded 9 digits, never more to part.
Shaped to fit the moldings public schools provide, Homogenizing masses of our children nation wide.
Service in the workplace, in homage to the clock, Subsistence level paychecks to subjugate the flock.
Raised to love dependence, surrendering free will, Deferent and passive to the traits the laws instill.
Recreations sirens call at end of day, To siphon off ambition and to squander drive away.
Born from Revolution our nation once stood tall, Now our growing government makes cowards of us all.
Born in freedom's bondage, shackled from the start, Branded 9 digits, never more to part.
This is what Thomas Jefferson Warned us about!

My daughter is a teacher. She doesn't impose her thoughts on anybody. It's hard enough getting the kids to pay attention to anything. "Forced propaganda lessons in authoritarian schools.?" Come on! That's so insulting to her and hard working teachers everywhere. Besides, her colleagues run the gamut of the political spectrum as far as their own views are concerned. There is no great machine at work here.
Most of the kids I know are smarter than my generation and give me hope.

My daughter is a teacher as well. She left one northern California school district for the very reasons I describe. Too many authoritarian, narrow minded school administrators are like those she left. The mission statement given to parents was that the school exists to change the society we live in, starting with the children. I celebrate your daughter and mine, as well as all others who find themselves being compelled to be the applicators of the philosophies of a few. The insult to teachers are these administrations. Children raised to think critically and independently are our best future. Blessings to all teachers able to assist in that mission.

My daughter must be lucky. None of that where she works. Plenty of other problems. She is in North Carolina, where teachers are not valued and even denigrated by certain lawmakers in Raleigh. The administrators, particularly at the local level are good people with no agenda.
Raising children to think critically and independently doesn't seem to clash with a goal of changing society starting with the children. A generation able to do that would certainly be a change from those currently ruling the roost. This is going to be even more important in the age of disinformation.
