I’m done preaching, nobody’s listening Guess I’ll write another song Antiquated laurels for yesterday’s morals Who will miss them when they’re gone…
Friends in need and gods of greed But no freedom to choose Living for sake of a prayer too late With nothing left to lose
We take too much credit We redefine the truth We sell freedom for profit And give the Devil his due
Eternal trust in a spec of dust This universe that we roam Given freely but owned completely No safe place to call home
I’m done preaching, nobody’s listening The wheat is choked by chaff No laurels for yesterday’s morals Who treads the grapes of wrath…

I like this a lot, Tony, although you sure ain't done preaching LOL. It's very densely written with lots of great lines, not just because of their meaning, but also their sound and rhythm, especially the internal rhymes.

I've followed the threads Tony and I don't view you as "preaching". I view you as trying to bring truth to the masses. As courageous as the meaning of your name.

Geneva, nobody does preaching like Tony! I disagree with him about just about everything under the sun, but he tells it as he sees it and he rocks, which is more than the preachers at our church do. People who don't agree with me are all wrong, of course, but they can still be great guys

Lol Gavin,
I appreciate the thought that we all can have our opinions and don't hold them against each other and be friends without letting others beliefs get in the way of that. There are those out there that can't and good for you.
I don't view Tony as a preacher, I view him as a teacher.I fall into the ways of the world in my writing if you know what I mean. Tony hold true to his beliefs. I hope someday to be more like that.

Tony, You're true to yourself and your beliefs and are not afraid or ashamed, that speaks multitudes to me
