Alzheimer’s is an emotional roller coaster. The mind, as well as the body, is under relentless attack. In a sense, you’re dealing with a loved one who dies — and then comes back again, over and over. You can’t change what you can’t change, but you can always remember them for who they truly are. This song is about remembering, not forgetting. https://frettie.com/track_detail/1948

Funny I had already listened to this tune yesterday. And in the evening on PBS was the Country Special and there was a story ans a song perforemed and written at the Bluebird Cafe about a woman who couldn't recognize her hubby of 60 years and she said just before she died "where you been" as she finally recognized her husband. I immediately thought of your tune Marvin.
Your song is right on par with that. Poignant & heartfelt.
To pull off a tune like these takes great craft....Excellent work

Thanks Steve for listening and for your kind comments. This song was one of those project songs that took time and patience to get it to where I felt it needed to be. Thanks again!
Best, Marvin

Hi Marvin,
Very touching song.
It's hard to not compare the song to the Mattea/Henry/Vezner classic cuz it is so revered in the inner circles of Nashville and elsewhere, and though the "Where've You Been" chorus still kills me when I hear it, I find your song overall as moving and it deserves to be heard.
There are now IMHO at least two great songs dealing with this topic. A very hard topic for me to engage with as my mom suffered from dementia in the last several years of her life.

Thank you Kolstad for your comments. We write songs because we want to share them with the world, and I hope someday that will happen with this song.
Michael I am so sorry for your loss my friend, and I know what you are feeling. I lost my mother just last year. Thank you so much for your comments. You don't know how much they mean to me.
Best, Marvin

Hi Marvin,
This is a beautiful emotional song so well written and performed. My brother-in-law has early stage Dementia so this hits home with many people out there whose loved ones are suffering with this. Thanks for sharing with us.

Powerful song, Marvin:
Most of us can relate in one or more ways to this mysterious malady. So hurtful to those left out of what used to be an inner circle. Surely a cure or preventative cannot be far away. Most important research effort needed now!
Thanks for the power and empathy of this one. Stay strong, my friend.

Had a listen Marvin and found your song very moving.
Although my Helen had mild dementia for her the last few years, thank God she never forgot who I was and could cope on a day to day basis.
God Bless to all

Thank you Dave and Roy for listening. Music is supposed to make us feel something, and my wish is that this song could do that.
