I like doing footage from other people's videos as well as where I live with my own footage for issues I care about. I don't travel. I am not out for a profit making venture yet. Though I would insist on dividing the money up equally if I did for others footage.
But what are the copyright requirements with video and what can get used from the other? The earth and sky has not been copywritten as far as I know, or the nations capital for that matter.

Hey Matt, there are heaps of stock footage sites out there, I use a particular one, which has anything I need to do fills. i.e. a spoon in a teacup, or an arial location shot.
You must use hi-fid , and have the files available, and be able to do 15-30-1 minute chops. Upload your files, and then a client can easily access them.
It's really strange how a guy that needs a small amount of footage can access 5 seconds of a squirrel playing in the snow to use in his total production.
Good luck. Just keep the camera steady, don't pan and don't wobble. i.e' place the camera on a brick
cheers, niteshift

Thanks niteshift! . I notice those small enticements like in Bond movies to get a viewer to watch again. I plan to get far more many times productive with it, and fortunately I have the software tools and for video and sound, at least to start with.. Though I still have to save up for a nice Canon to make it more professional. I am going to have videos that are exclusively local too.

There are a number of sights like Videvo and Pexels where you can get and share free as well as monetize your work. As niteshift pointed out there is always someone that needs 5 seconds of an animal feeding or snow falling. Look at a movie and count the number of shots that last even 15 seconds.
