Hello Kimberly,
You have lots of words and images bouncing around that qualify this as a modern-day country song. I can hear Jason Aldean doing it and if you had told me this was Aldean himself, I would have had no reason to doubt you. The production is professional, and the vocal is strong. I would call this more than a "demo." Good luck with it.
Jim

Great job Kim! I like it a lot.
I like the chorus especially. Seems like it's ending after that 2nd line coz of the pause... 3rd line comes in... ok, that's it... nope... 4th line and it's done. Really clever.
Great sound! I got no suggestions.
John

Hi Kim!
Sounds great, like everything about it, no nits. It sounds current, but I hear influences of Alabama and Mary Chapin Carpenter believe it or not. Good luck with it!

Excellent country rock tune that kicks some ass! I like it.
The only thing that struck me funny was the cadence and slight pause between the third and fourth line of the chorus since you already have that pause halfway through the chorus. It's not a big deal and will probably grow on me with more listens.
Tell trackgurl I love her drum sound! The vocals sound nice and big but I thought they could have tucked into the music a wee bit better. It's a really good sounding production overall.
This song really needs a guitar solo to add to that true outlaw country flavor.
Excellent!
Peace, TC

Sounds good and very polished. I agree with TC about the pauses in the chorus. I was not sure why those were needed, seems like it could flow better. But it might be one of those things on repeat listens that make it stand-out.
The vocal does seem to be out in front a hare but not jarring.
Good luck with it.

Professional sounding demo. Vocalist sounds a bit like Jake Owens to me in the verse. Guitar sounds a little Hank Jr with the pull offs. Very well done however the lyrical theme puts you in a crowded lane. I hope that you land it somewhere.

Congratulations on getting rolling again. Seems like you were quiet for a while.
Pop country is not my thing so I don't really know how this stacks up but I'm guessing it fits the genre well. Wish you success with it!!!!

Kim, I liked 48 Hour Fix. Could defiantly hear this on any alt country station today. I also share the same concern about the pauses in the chorus. The song feels like its racing toward the weekend end then it hits those pauses. I'm surprised you never used "kicks" as part of the lyric. Maybe because it is overused. Otherwise really liked everything else! Nice work!

Thanks very much Jim. We did ask Kris if she had any friends that reminded her of Jason Aldean and this is the guy she recommended. I am glad you like it Kim

Hi Calvin Thanks for taking time to listen. It is not my musical style as a favorite either, but trying to write commercial as best as I can. Thanks! Kim

Hi John Thanks for listening, and I understand what you mean about the pause. It was even more pronounced and we changed it. It is just the way with that may words, it comes out, but hopefully it will still be something someone likes. Kim

Hi- We didn't add a guitar solo because where we pitch songs, they suggest to not have them because if the artist wants one, they throw one in....seems odd to me, but this is what we have been told I understand about the pause. It was even more pronounced and we changed it. It is just the way with that may words, it comes out, but we hope it will still be something someone likes. Thanks for listening. Kim

Thanks for listening Wendy. The pauses, even when my co-writer Mitch sang it, they seemed to be almost needed to catch your breath, they were longer but have been shortened and hopefully will be liked. I have heard some country songs today that have very unique pauses and rhythms, so maybe it will fly... The vocals at first were a bit low in the mix and we asked her to bring them up some. I am not hearing them as too loud but it may be my speakers.
Thanks Kim

Hi Martin Yes the topic is used often, we are hoping the use of the idea of needing the FIX like a drug, will make it different enough. Thanks for listening Kim

Hi- I think you must have listened to Good Bad Girl by Kris Bradley, who did the demo work, that is not my song. I moved that info to the bottom of the page. I was only showing the info for who did the demo work in case anyone needs someone to demo their songs.
My song is 48 hour Fix, as you can see from the lyric. If you wanna listen again to our song, it would be cool Thanks and sorry for the confusion Kim

Great sounding demo, Kim. Fits right in with today's country but don't know that it will get much attention, seeing as how there's no mention of a pick up truck... Well done! Ricki

I thought you had lots of clever lines - I especially liked "till that workday rooster crows" - best of luck - hope it gets picked up.
