ahh, ok. I thought a chance to write with a member of Little Feat was quite a coup. Like Marty McFly pulling up in a DeLorean and saying he could offer you the opportunity to bed Marilyn Monroe back in '55. You wouldn't wanna be a two-minute Tommy and give her a lousy lay. But hey, if Shaun was in charge, que sera sera.

You ALWAYS gear a song to the person who will be singing that song. Last I looked I'm not exactly a huge range female singer. But you always go with what a singer wants since they are the one singing the song.
And that is part of co-writing. Working with other people to include what they want. In many ways I am just a gatherer of information. I listen to what people say and try to put it into a format that works for them.
