Hi Folks,
For the past 21 years, Jodi Krangle has run a wonderful songwriting site called Muses Muse. She beat nearly everyone online with her website and has sent out informative newsletters every month for all those years. Her last issue will be later this month.
Things have changed so much it's very sad for me personally to see her go. She's got lots going on in her "other" career doing high end voice work for national campaigns etc. She also realizes that message boards (her's is being taken over by a user I believe and moved elsewhere as she's totally closing the website.
We just turned 30 years old ourselves, about 60% of my life. We'll keep trucking as long as I can do it, but I wanted to acknowledge the loss of our sister site. Even though we often targeted the same people, we were always mutually supportive of each other, something that is rare in this world. Jodi is awesome and I will miss another Hall of Fame tool for songwriters going away. I think us and TAXI are the oldest online entities at this point helping musicians and songwriters.
For those of you who participate in both places, please welcome anyone from there to join us here if they need a place to go. (But let them know their message board will continue elsewhere so don't abandon their friends there either).
Sigh... she will be missed.
Brian

That is sad, Brian.
On the other hand, you just paid a wonderful tribute to someone who was ahead of the curve, and served without any big financial rewards for herself.
Well done on her part!!!!
Let me be the first to "welcome", the Muse's-Musers who find their way back here!
I'm looking forward to seeing some wonderful lyrics!
Midnite

She sent an email out a few days ago with the announcement. Her reasons are on the web site and the forum is, as Brian says, being transferred elsewhere..location to follow. There's a fair amount of crossover, so I expect people won't slip through the cracks...have not posted there for a long time myself but did visit occasionally. Have enough trouble keeping up here
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

I've seen so many heroic selfless people drop out of the scene or literally pass away over the years, people who dedicated their time and lives to helping others. Fortunately for Jodi, she has a thriving Voiceover business that's doing extremely well. I finally got to communicate with her about all of this. She's sad but after hearing everything, I think she made the right decision. She never made money doing all that work in much the same way I haven't. We approached things very differently in most ways (like my constant touring for 2 decades meeting face to face, including many visits to Toronto where we got to spend time together and did some events together with some funny stories attached).
JPF is perhaps the last of the truly independent self run entities from the 80's-90's-2000's and beyond still in operation now. There are some newer, as well as one org and the grand-daddy on the internet TAXI who I think had a site pre-internet through AOL and then a website as early as 1991 or 1992. But Laskow has built a real company with a staff and a smart business model. He's the king... I am more like the court jester by comparison. But I did this to improve my own life, expand my world and be my own boss. And if not for the serious health issues, I likely would finally be making money and be able to introduce many things I think would help our members and actually earn me a living off all this work.
I know she'll do great and have far more time to do it. As for me, it's back to the music awards.... it's been slow going of late as I hit a burnout phase, but I am coming out of it and finding judges to help around the world.
Onwards...

I saw this yesterday, Brian... but did not have time to comment. It is a shame to see another one "bite the dust" but, as you said, her voiceover work is probably the real reason she is "redirecting" her efforts. I wish her well and hope most of her "regulars" will migrate over to JPF.
It's been so long since I took a peek there, I wonder... are there any features unique to Muse's Muse that might work well here without stepping on anyone's toes?
Thanks for letting us know... and for all you do for us.
Best, ----Dave

Thanks for posting this Brian. It’s a good community on the Muse, lots of active competitions and interesting musical projects (all free of course). Made members CDs and had many meet ups. There is a little bit of crossover between JPF and Muse, over the years I’ve straddled the two as my favourite music message boards. The good news is that the Muse message boards will carry on under the Muse Songwriters moniker. Here is the Link Muse SongwritersIt won’t be quite the same without Jodi, she worked tirelessly and brilliantly, I wish her every success in her new endeavours.

Hey Nigel, I just remembered something so there's a chance I might be touring in the middle of the music awards final judging (after nominees/picking the winners) in Europe and we might take a side trip to London to watch our local NFL Team The Indianapolis Colts, play at Wembley. Perhaps we'll be able to meet up while we're over there before we head home.

Well Brian, I would certainly be up for that. The match is scheduled for 2nd Oct. Let me know if you take the side trip and hopefully we can work something out.
