Howdy JPFers everywhere! Now, for something completely different, at least for me. I wrote a song some time ago, lyrics and music, but never recorded it. Then I thought that, although the lyrics kind of inspired the music, now the music had taken on a life of its own, so I went with it. Thanks to Mike Zaneski for breathing new life into my solo piano piece with some added instrumentation and awesome effects. Please listen with an open mind and tell me what you think, but instead of just saying you like it, or hate it, as the case may be, I would be most interested in hearing what it makes you feel, or what visuals it conjures up for you. And try not to let the picture influence you. It was a random choice. Thanks for listening, Ricki https://soundcloud.com/rickib/as-you

Hi Ricki, Nice work. I see a lover leaving on a bus, and he's watching the scenery pass by his window, knowing the love is over . Calvin http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewart

What a beautiful piece, great work! I love the sound of the strings and how they blend so nicely with piano.

It conjures up a sad farewell to a loved one at a burial site to me. There a poignancy/dignity to it that speaks of deep emotions and the transiency of things.

Big city, walking beside a river, sidewalk, concrete wall. Bridge behind, city sky-line across the river....
It's dusk. Cold enough for a coat. Joggers (in appropriate winter gear) pass by...
Big decision being made... someone may go to jail... someone's heart may be broken... defining who they truly are...
A cigarette is thrown and toed...
Decision made.
(thanks for comments on my punk song)

Hi Ricki,
Kind of melancholy/reflective New Age/ Classical material. Scenario: an old man (loner), reminiscing about the love of his life during the good old days. Mike did a super job with this. Submit it to a music library (and do more instrumentals).
Best, John

Mike, it makes you think of the tragedy of no beer? I did not see that coming. Ricki

Wow, thanks Floyd, that's very specific. It's the 3 minute movie a lyricist strives for! Ricki

Melancholy without the dissonance, eh John? Thanks. I know you have mentioned them in the past but can you recommend a music library where this song might fit? Ricki

Melancholy without the dissonance, eh John? Thanks. I know you have mentioned them in the past but can you recommend a music library where this song might fit? Ricki Here's a new one Ricki that I just signed a couple dozen tracks with: http://www.4scoreand7music.com/film.html I conversed with Andrew Markus - Creative Director via emails for a couple days before signing. They’re located in NYC and sound promising. I think tracks like this one of yours may work for them. I can give you more ideas if this one doesn’t pan out. Is this considered a co-write? If so, it will need both of you listed on the contract. Good luck, John

Hi Ricki,
Well done. I found this music both very well done but also it evoked very sad feelings. In all honesty, it made me think of a loved one's death and funeral. A very emotional piece for me. Kudos to both you and Michael for bringing out those emotions.

Thanks a bunch, folks. Ricki had a beautiful piano piece and it was a joy adding another dimension to it. Thanks again..

Ver pretty and somber piece. Plenty there to let your mind imagine different scenarios. Well done! Thanks for sharing!
