This is a song that I have always loved that didn't get a ton of airplay that I know of. Really great song imo and hopefully we have done it justice. Scotto from the muse provided an epic rock vocal for the music bed that I put together. I love this song...see what you think!!! I know I commented on this at The Muse but additionally, I do want to convey how you guys did do a stand-up job on this. I know your work and would expect nothing less. I hope I didn't come across as indifferent about it. It's just that, for me, this was one of those recording that was perfect and in my eyes, couldn't be improved upon unless the groove/approach took a different turn. But that's all personal for me. Like U2's Pride, Springsteen's Hungry Heart, Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On...etc. But it is fun trying huh?!

Ricky,
This is a very cool classic rock tune. I think you both did a great job.
Would I change anything? A tad, I'd bring the drums up very slightly and more forward and pan the tom-tom hits (if any are in there to bring them to life) and cymbal crashes to give a bit more "live" sound which I think would work well with what you have. The drums can drive this one even a bit harder-the electric guitar will still cut through--though you may want to experiment panning the electric guitar an almost un-discernible 15% which can add a slight presence which helps separate it from the centered dominant snare hits. (But I've been accused of having drums too loud --maybe we all really do hear differently)!Backing or adding volume to either one isn't always the answer--add slight panning to the equation and of course the appropriate EQ is always key.
You're really close--and it sounds very good now--I'm only talking small tweaks and polish!
But hey that's JMO! Super job here!

Michael, Thank you. Appreciate the listen and positive comments!
Tams --- Nice to be back once in a while. Still learning and spending hours and hours per song. Fun to be sure but sometimes wish I was more productive! Thanks!
Iggy --- Thanks. I think Scott's vocals rock too!

Thanks Zeek. I think it is awesome you like the original so much! We have that in common for sure. Scott did not know the song as well as I did and I think that helped bring a little something different to the vocals. For me I had the original song in my head the whole time working on this. Really just did not want to change it up too much. Like you said it's tough to remake a song that is great already.
To be honest I like our version a lot. But I will say the original takes me back to the days of Mtv when it first started and they played some of these videos over and over. I honestly wonder how much I would have heard this song without Mtv. I don't recall hearing it on the radio in my area very much if at all. So MY opinion is that this song is great but not as well known as it should be or should have been.
Totally cool with you opinion and thanks for checking it out!
Now go put on the original and take yourself back to your touring days!
Thanks Buddy,
Ricky

Eddie, Thanks for your feedback. I agree about the drums after your comments and listening to a few rock mixes. The snare and symbols are up a little in this mix: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?q=hi&songID=12565062Hopefully not too much! Thanks for your help and good to see you here! Ricky

Ricky,
To me this song NOW has a "kick-ass" drummer! This song needed that drive--wow! Loved it, this definitely made a difference for me.
