Hi What are the benefits of having blu ray? And what's the cost? Great question LOL 1. You have an HD TV now we all do, that's the way they come. So if you use your HDMI cable input you will see things in High Definition. Makes regular dvd's and vhs look bad! 2. Blu Ray players have come way way way down.. You can get one new for around $50, $75 - $100 bucks 3. Blu Ray movies have come way down, each week at best Buy they have loads of sales.. $4.99 to $9.99 then there's ebay with loads of deals. 4. Picture and sound is superior and there are great bonus features like inside info on films. Great stuff. 5. I have movies streaming in HD so why? Well they always keep crashing, reloading and losing dots along with your HD. Not even close in enjoyment. 6. Blu Rays take a beating they don't scratch easy... I would recommend for the budget minded to look for deals and also buy the ones that you KNOW you'll watch over and over again. Your favorite movies and those that really needed improvement as well. I must have watched my Magnificent Seven remastered blu ray ten times already since I got it last year
