I'd go with www.indiegogo.com because with Kickstarter, if you don't reach your target, the money is returned, but with Indiegogo, you keep whatever you raise, no matter if the goal is reached. A friend of mine got $4K, not enough for her CD, but she was able to do a lot of work with it, getting the ball rolling.
