Mike,
What did Springsteen's demo sound like? Probably just him and a guitar is all the exec's heard.
By the by, that is a right nice looking studio you have there. Hi Thanks. I'll ask that question to his former manager and co-producer of Born To Run next week when he's here at my house. Actually he told me the story of how he and Bruce went to Clive's office with the acoustic guitar only. But back then a recorder even at home was $$$$$ so this demo thing was not an issue at all. Today everyone knows including the industry people that we ALL have computers at home capable of very good sounding results. What people forget is that has NOTHING to do with being a good or great musician, producer or a recording engineer. We aren't really talking about the quality of the songs or today's artists or bands, but more focusing on the representation of your material. That material is based on SOUND. So it should sound as GREAT as you can make it sound to your best of knowledge and savy and your budget. Do the best we can.... For me that involved spending a lifetimes savings and earnings on equipment! And I still don't have anything. Thanks Mike
