There is a discussion elsewhere about the 1970's Japanese "lawsuit guitars", guitars that basically built Martins and other high end guitars...I have one of those too, a Yamaki.

When I began hearing about SX guitars, I bought one, a Taylor knockoff, and very quickly bought the others. Did so primarily because I saw the Yuan being revalued so that they would cost more. I see them aging just like my Yamaki because they use solid woods like cedar and spruce for their tops...not all of them of course, but certainly the ones I bought. Add the acoustics came with pickups...and all for the price of about $150U$, and they're a steal.

When my LP knockoff came, I brought it to my local shop to get set up...only because I never owned an electric, and had no idea really if it was properly set up. It was very playable, and sounded fine, but I wanted to make sure.

I asked they guy in the store what it was worth. He didn't know the brand, but he felt it could easily be priced in the $500 range...and I paid about $150
