I've been looking for a decent short-scale bass for a while now. As a teenager, I played a Kay copy of an SG bass that I wish I still had. I am primarily a guitarist, so the short scale feels more natural to me. After a day of scouring pawn shops a couple of weeks ago, I picked up a Jay Turser JTB-40 bass. I put it through the paces while in the shop and was very impressed by the quality of this little instrument. After some negotiations, I walked out the door with it for 70 bucks. They also threw in a black and pink "Hello Kitty" gig bag. I told them I would pay more if they kept the bag, but the salesman was insistent.  I know nothing about the company, but if all of their products are like this, I will certainly look at them in the future.
