Hey guys...I'm new to posting on the forum, and I know this is an older thread, but I thought I might try to answer a question if I may... I teach a music theory/producing class at a local college, and the biggest question that I run across is "how do we write 7th chords for number charts?" Most everyone I know uses a superscript when they write them by hand, but that can get confusing and it's not really practical when typing. The accepted method is to add "x" or "dom" between the chord and the extension. For example, in the key of A Maj, an E7 would be 5dom7 or 5x7. The same is true for further extensions like 9, 11, and so on. We also type all of our number charts at my church and post them electronically for our praise team, and that method of notation keeps down confusion pretty well. Here's an article about the Nashville Number System: http://www.articlesbase.com/music-articles/the-nashville-number-chart-system-demystified-893035.html

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
