Hey guys,

Like I said, we get a lot of these in Nashville. They have some very warped ideas and are total fools. But what bothers me is that we always have new people that come to forums like these. I belive that in the future as in now, people learn and further their careers through sites like these. This might be the nucleus that some new singer, band, potential artist, makes the connection with writers, to become the new "Next Big Thing." and that is why we have to protect the dialogue.
When newer people (young artists) hear things like that silliness, they get the wrong ideas, and end up wasting time money and effort in the wrong directions. I have had these kinds of people in every workshop I have ever done or attended. I could tell a million crumudgeon stories, but won't here. All we can do is try to counteract nonsense with common sense, and factual information. So when these people open up, it is all our responsibility to respond (politely, of course, at least at first) and then find ways to quietly guide them to other avenues that might fit their views better.
All we can do is try. You can lead people to water but can't make them drink.
