Just Another Man
©2008 Kristi McKeever

He was tired of howling at the moon
Staring at life with hot eyes of doom
He wanted to sever some old ties
Swallow the pride that was twice his size

He decided to take some notes
Made a short list of what mattered most
Desire lingered in his house of cards
He picked it up and raised the bar

[ch]
He cares, he feels
He cries on his heels
Just another man
Just another plan
Knows if he just steps outside
He’ll feel better down inside
Ready to live cuz now he trusts
The person he always knew he was
Just another man
With another plan

He knows he has to pay to play
But that’s better than wasting away
He’d rather walk through a field of mines
Than sit and shrivel on a vine

[ch]
He cares, he feels
He cries on his heels
Just another man
Just another plan
Knows if he just steps outside
He’ll feel better down inside
Ready to live cuz now he trusts
The person he always knew he was
Just another man
With another plan

[br]
He’s extraordinary, he’s extreme
With his ordinary, everyday dreams
He’ll be happy when he sees himself
Living life like everyone else

[ch]
He cares, he feels
He cries on his heels
Just another man
Just another plan
Knows if he just steps outside
He’ll feel better down inside
Ready to live cuz now he trusts
The person he always knew he was
Just another man
With another plan

A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write,
if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be,
he must be. -- Abraham Maslow, American Psychologist
