Howdy Raymond,
You might want to check out Altec Lansing powered speakers...the one with the bass boost.
There was a studio engineer here listening to something on my PC and he went nuts about the sound quality and said he wanted a set for his studio.
The model number is ACS-44,they are small speakers with a big combination boost and power unit.
They really do sound like a high end stereo.
