Hi John,
That's great that your family has done well with soy! We are also vegetarian though so we have to get some B12 from somewhere. My parents went vegan when I was about four years old. I got very skinny and it worried them. Turns out that my body wasn't able to get all the nutrition I needed from soy/gluten products alone.
I'm still a very enthusiastic supporter of soy products but I understand that not everyone can tolerate them as well as some do. And there are certain ages of children where nutritional deficiencies that go undetected can cause severe problems later in life. Like I said, we only use a little dairy because a little goes a long way. But, I try to avoid the extremes after what happened to me.
But, I do think you have raised excellent points that apply to mature adults. And yes, my children got human milk for at least 9 months to a year. It's the perfect formula for humans---you are right.
Vanessa

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
