I'm with Larry. The choices should be separated into live and studio.....very different types are needed.
I think he's right too that the SM58 would be the best general live mic and that Neumann's would rise to the top of the studio picks
Maybe there should be a studio mic pick under $500 too since most of our members are into the home recording thing.... The Marshall mic company has an inxpensive line of large diaphram mics that sound really great for the price
