Thanks Brian : ) I'd like to post my own (music related) success here too: August 18th will mark the 1 year anniversary of my weekly webradio broadcast, "Juliette's Open Mic Radio Show" on KCLAFM.com! Upon moving from NYC to LA about a year and a half ago, I answered a listing for radio DJs/announcers thinking a graveyard shift at a radio station might be a good way for a night owl like me to help finance my newly chosen career (acting) while getting some on-air experience for potential voiceover work. Although I soon learned that I was NOT signing up for a job, but agreeing to finance my own radio show (for which I could solicit sponsorship) . . . this is one personal investment that has turned out to be very fulfilling for me, on many levels. * I've had the pleasure of meeting so many talented singers/songwriters/musicians and industry folk while scouting out material for my shows. * I feel privileged to be among the first to receive newly released CDs - and I know how hard it is to part with them when you're first starting out! * I am blessed to have access to a medium that can expose such talent to the world, free from local frequencies or the monopoly of certain radio giants and the decisions they make about their play lists. * I thoroughly enjoy creating themed shows that highlight well-written lyrics and motivate, console, stimulate, or communicate feelings that we all share at one point or another. * I am happy to hear the success stories of the independent artists I feature and hope that in some small way I can play a part in their future success. Thanks to all the JPF members who have shared your music with me and my listeners. I've gotten so much positive feedback from the community and am proud to provide an outlet to showcase your talent to the world! Stay tuned for more success this year - for everyone involved!!
