Hi, this is Jared Jones. I am currently a student at Elon University here in Elon, North Carolina. I've been shopping around for a manager and have yet to sign on with one. Horizon Management, from Endwell, New York has over 1500 clients, and they sent me an artist management contract, but they want $500 from me to get my promotional package ready. I don't have that money right now. I'm trying to break into the music business so I can have money. I write and record my own songs and I want the equipment to be able to perform all over the place. I don't even have a car anymore. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any managers that I could send my material to. I also need a manager to try and sign with a label, because they only listen to managers and A&Rs. I also want to know if anyone has signed with Horizon Management. I read an article online that said avoid paying up front fees to managers, because then they have more incentive to get you deals so they can benefit from them as well. If anyone can give me any insight to help me through this situation, please let me know. Also, If you want to hear some of my music, I can send you wav files through e-mail, or you can wait until mid October and go to hitquarters.com, search for artist, Jared Jones. Thank you everybody.

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
