Here’s a song I wrote in the ’70s. It was one of my first songs ever. I recorded it in the ’80s. I programmed many of the guitar parts, and those backing vocals you hear used to be one of my trademarks. I actually released this track on one of my albums about 20 years ago.

I noticed that Suno just released V6, so I thought I’d try covering this one with Suno. The results aren’t bad:

A GIRL I WISH I´D NEVER MET

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse]
On that sad day
I heard a soft voice say
“It´s your lucky day
I love you”

[Verse]
I ran away
She cried out “Won´t you please stay?
Everything´s ok
I love you”

[Chorus]
She met me in the wrong place
Oh and at the wrong time
She looked so fine
I had to make her mine
But there still is one crazy thing
Oh oh, that I just can´t get
How I fell in love with a girl
Oh I wish I´d never met, never met

[Verse]
I had no chance
When she made her advance
We were heading for romance
Out of the blue

[Verse]
Love at first glance
She asked me for a dance
No I never had a chance
´Cause I loved you

[Chorus]
She met me in the wrong place
Oh and at the wrong time
She looked so fine
I had to make her mine
But there still is one crazy thing
Oh oh, that I just can´t get
How I fell in love with a girl
Oh I wish I´d never met, never met

[Interlude]

[Chorus]
She met me in the wrong place
Oh and at the wrong time
She looked so fine
I had to make her mine
But there still is one crazy thing
Oh oh, that I just can´t get
How I fell in love with a girl
Oh I wish I´d never met, never met

[Verse]
Still hear her say
It in that same soft way
“It´s your lucky day
I love you”

[Verse]
And now today
She has gone her own way
Still I can´t forget her say
“I love you”

[Chorus]
She met me in the wrong place
Oh and at the wrong time
She looked so fine
I had to make her mine
But there still is one crazy thing
Oh oh, that I just can´t get
How I fell in love with a girl
I wish I´d never met, never met

[Instrumental outro]
