I currently have uploaded over 1500 songs to them and generated over 80K versions of them, changing production, arrangements, genres etc. I started off against it, but then I actually used it. I also talked to a lot of Pro writers who do a lot of what I do and I have taught multiple hit songwriters how to use it effectively. It is allowing me to create a project I have worked on since the early 1990s. I never could afford to produce the music I had written for it, but now it is an incredible tool. No one has lost any of their rights, if someone infringes on someone else using Suno, the laws apply as they always have. here is zero danger to writers having their songs stolen or infringed on. If a human listens to the Eagles and it inspires and teaches them how to write songs like they did, that is okay, so why should a machine be any different. Auto generated music has been around since the dawn of Electronic music. Band in the Box for 35 years. No one cared because it isn't very good. If left to it's own devices AI music is only as good as what someone creates with it. It doesn't automatically generate anything good enough for success, at least I haven't heard anything auto generated that was good.

Covered wagon makers lost out to the car. And yet all these years later you can still buy a wagon. Not much is changed in the end.

I hated Band in A Box lol that's what caused alot of rifts between me and some the faithful here

I just thought it sounded so fake and mechanical, talk about robots, that sounded way more robotic than ai.

Cheese on display

But what it is, Is a great practice partner for musicians, which ironically, is why it was created for musicians to jam with and learn how to improvise over chord changes.

I don't have a good filter..lol.

I think the best music is whatever someone loves. Who cares how it was made. People buy a zillion products a day made literally by slaves and do not care a bit. Soem of those same people rant about AI use. It is not and will not even be a living thing, nor remotely as smart 1 to 1 as a human. It has no autonomy. It has no soul. It is a mechanical tool made entirely by hard working humans. Was it fed the internet, libraries and research? Yes. Those same tools COULD be read by all of us, but the internet could too, but fortunately google finds what we want so we don't have to search. So does AI. My art is not being a producer. I am an average keyboard player (i.e. I played live shows in 48 states and nearly 40 countries, I played in dozens of bands and did solos shows both, that makes me right about average) and a limited but in tune singer. Due to health issues, I can't sing anymore nor play well enough to do a live show all the way through anymore. It is what it is. AI is part of my DAW process. I get it as far as I can via Ableton, then I upload it to suno with my lyrics and produce it in the various characters I am writing about. I have ample content now for a lot of offshoot stuff. I am still crafting the main storyline to get it just right and I am writing new songs (with a few people familar here) also to fit scenes as underscore. I am trying to fit in full albums for 16 primary characters per season and additional albums for each recurring artist. So far I have about 500 purpose written songs. Many came from my decades in music, about 200 came in the past 2 years written exclusively for this project. I am working on a way to start sharing the process. If health allows I hope by the end of this year to share some teaser content. It is a BIG undertaking and I am the insane guy who took on a music awards in 2009 that received 565K songs, 42K albums from 185 countries and in over 100 distinct genres. It was free to enter and every song got judged by a group of over 10K judges, including thousands who used to come to this message board. And even with all that work which we lovingly did 100% for free and it took us nearly 2 calendar years, this project is way bigger than that. It is super ambitious. The only thing that will stop me is health. If it does, it does, but I have tried to do so much work on it that someone else, should someone exist to try, has all they need to see it through. If not, it will go to my Wife and my Granddaughter who is the target for it in the first place. Not now, at 9 years old, but hopefully by the time she hits 14. That is my goal. AI is the only reason any of it is possible. I do not have the time to do it any other way, even if I had unlimited money. I am directly overseeing this music and all the character development and the wider world in which they exist. I am pouring every memorable experience I have had into. I wish more of you would use it to take your ideas and make them real. Have demos laying around? Produce them and at leaswt oversee making them sound the way you may have dreams but couldn't for whatever reason. I know one hit writer I have helped who has 24K songs of his own over a 50+ many hit career. He is now producing stuff so when he is gone, it is all airplay ready. It also is a valuable asset because this guy is no joke and his songs are still getting cut and so many more could in the future if they are made available. It is a tool folk. So are many other things you use daily that someone out there turns their nose up at. Good for them, but that doesn't need to include you. It isn't a boogeyman. It is like walking to the store each day or driving. Why not drive? A walk is nice when you want a walk, but it consumes a lot of your time if you don't have enough to do what you want already. Just a thought anyway. -Brian
