Dom, Thanks for taking the time to listen and for sharing your thoughts. We obviously hear the song differently. I wasn't trying to write an angry protest song - I wanted something catchy and satirical. To me, the humor comes from pairing a fun melody with lyrics about the qualities we don't want in a leader. Trump has always struck me as more of a clown than a tragic figure, so I felt a lighthearted arrangement suited the message better. Other songwriters mentioned that the combination worked well, which tells me it landed the way I'd hoped.
It also seems you liked the concept enough to spend time rewriting some of the lyrics and creating your own version. I appreciate the thought you put into it, even though I prefer the lighter, more satirical approach. Since the structure, the hook and many lines of your version are from my original lyric, I would also appreciate it if you would give me some credits on your Soundclick page.

The problem with yours being light hearted, is it's not. It a direct, critical, biased, and targeted. Which is fine, but the music isnt
