I've done about 4 covers of James Taylor . You will never beat the artist . So I will never do that again
I think the trick os to not compete with it, do something way different with it.

You think eh ? Get in the studio , it's not as easy as you think man. You won't be laughing when he pushes record and that red light come on . These critics become critics cuz they suck .
You sound like you think ive never done it. I agree singing/recording is hard work, maybe not any more since anybody can sing with Ai.
Not sure where musuc is going, but I still think real artists will prevail.
BTW, I can beat his vocal, but could not come near him as a writer. He might be the best ever.
