You conveniently overlook the USA and Britain (CIA and MI5) overhrew a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED Iranian government in the fifties.
Seems they had the gall to nationalize their oil industry after repeated requests for more transparency and money.
USA was going to act as an "honest broker" as it was the British who were there

Instead, they decided to restore the Shah to absolute power, then armed, trained and supplied his secret police, SAVAK, to keep him there
and they did that with brutal efficiency

1958 to 1978 ...20 years of support for that regime.....then the Shah fell ill, left the country, and the Ayatollah Khomeini was invited back into Iran.

The Shah first went to Mexico then was taken in by the USA and Iran wanted him back for trial.

As the US said no, students took over the US embassy for over a year, and all focus of hatred shifted to the USA because of their actions.
The US was an easy target for leadership 101. Unite the people in a common cause against an enemy

Fast forward from regime change and secret police support to surprise attacks as an aggressor nation and I can see where there is absolutely no trust or goodwill in Iran for the USA.

And yes Iranian proxies are fighting Israel...that is a fact...and Israel has all the right to defend itself.

But self defence has limits too in proportional retribution....and it appears to me that lines have been crossed here.
