Lots of people play Wagon Wheel live. The Rose Island Band (including me) live version is below. The bones of the song were written by Bob Dylan, and Ketch Secor of the Old Crow Medicine Show finished it. Now Darius Rucker has released it, sounding similar to the OCMS version.
The phrases Rock Me Baby and Roll Me Like a Wagon Wheel appear in an old blues song that was recorded by BB King and others. I bet Dylan heard that before he wrote his parts of Wagon Wheel.
Anyway, it's a cool song and we like playing it and the audiences love it.
