you drove outta my life today, you left with a smile on your face i guess you were happy to be leaving me. im kinda glad you're gone too . so i can move on, to find someone new. ( chours ) you were holding me back before, now im single and free, free to be me, im glad you're finally gone .
sad nights, i sat on my bed, waiting for you to come home, though thats what i had feared the most . you stumbling in drunk, and screaming, banging and beating .
( chours ) you were holding me back before, now im single and free, free to be me, im glad you're finally gone .
i had hidden my real self from me, for you're satisfaction, but now im back, ALIVE ! (chours ) you were holding me back before, now im single and free, free to be me, im glad you're finally gone . ( spoken ) :: my lifes only begining .... -- echo --

Nikki~ A "theme" doesn't have to be either happy or sad. I just felt your other songs were beginning to sound the same. This one is good too, however, (and I know you've addressed this before), but I really feel you should edit your work before posting if it's to be taken serious. You have many errors here....not typos mind you. you drove outta my life today, you left with a smile on your face i guess (you were) happy to be leaving me. im kinda glad you're gone too . so i can move on, to find someone new. ( chours )(chorus) you (were) holding me back before, im single and free, free to be me, im glad (you're) finally gone . sad night i sat in my bed, waiting for you to come home, though thats what i had feared the most . you stumbling in drunk, and screaming, banging and beating .

Keep at it Nikki. I think apostrophes and stuff are minor issues...this isn't English class! but the mis-use of we're and were have two different meanings. I like your style a lot though.

You should combine all of your songs into some kind of epical ballad. If you put all your songs together it seems it would all tell the same story at different points in time. Try that, and see how it goes. If you don't like it, you can always go back to doing it this way. And I don't think you give yourself much credit. I know you can write about other things, they don't have to be happy or anything, but it's just that probably now you've only been in the mood to write certain things. And I don't know what you're writing for if you think that you are incapable of making sense. All your lyrics seem to make a good deal of sense to me. Don't limit yourself by telling yourself that you can't do something, because it is not true. You can do anything if you work at it hard enough. Keep at the writing, and make sure your spelling and grammar is correct before posting, just to make it easier on the critiquers and anyone who reads your lyrics.
Good luck with your writing Josh Packard

joshrp:: i always get that way when i write my songs lol i start out to write something different but, the outcome of my songs dont seem to change all that much at all .
babyblue :: yes, true. lately ive been in a bad mood lol no j/k i just seem to keep writing all those songs of betrayal . i do have alot of errors, yes. but, still i dont want to go back and fix everything to what it SHOULD be beciase then my tune might be knocked right out of my head and i'd end up changing everything so much i'd have a new song, lol .
steggy :: yes, it is you're, lol i missed that part ( 2 times lol ).

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
