Fresh Lennon
December 1980 a legend was gunned down and died In front of the Dakota, sad fans gathered and cried Felt like a part of me left the rest far behind Since then I've been searching for peaceful thoughts of any kind
If I could hear some
Chorus: Fresh Lennon Imagine how great that would be Fresh Lennon More mind games, double fantasies Fresh Lennon Another tale of Norwegian Wood Fresh Lennon Make working class heroes feel good
Now if you're been listening, hope you don't get me wrong I still love cranking up his Beatles era songs But his solo recordings fill my CD rack And I wish I could hear another hidden Lennon track
Some
Chorus: Fresh Lennon Revealing much more in his life Fresh Lennon Whatever else gets him through the night Fresh Lennon The wisdom of a nowhere man Fresh Lennon Giving peace more of a chance

Hi shayne I live in Blacburn, Lancashire.Home of the 4000 holes as recorded in a Day in the life.I think most of these holes are in my front garden! I like your theme and the way you have woven in the song titles.I would imagine that there are some songs hidden away laying undiscoverd, I believe this to be the case with Elvis too. Would be interesting to hear your melody Travis

This is a really cool write, Shayne!
(And hey -- If this song does become a hit, thousands of people will definitely be singing "Fresh Lemon," and years later, they'll laugh when they realize their folly! It's the hallmark of a great rock song, really! Laughing...)
For the line about releasing another Lennon track, I thought you could sneak Yoko in there somewhere, though maybe you don't want her in the song. Something like..."wish that Yoko would release another hidden Lennon track."
For the tag, I thought that maybe you could personalize it back somehow to your own peace again. Just a thought!
I can't wait to hear this one!
Lisa

The concept of using old song titles in new lyrics is nothing new. My good friend Johnny Daubert did just that with his great song Lennon More Than a Memory. Imagine that! Nobody told me there’d be days like these! I think all of us Beatle/Lennon fans want, crave , need new music so I hear ya!
My problem is your title. Hearing “Fresh Lennon” sounds as if his old stuff is stale, ya know? I dunno. Maybe “Virgin Lennon”

Hey Iggy!
Thanks for the mentioning of my tribute song,,,,,BUT, I have to respectfully disagree about the title not being good for this lyric.
For me anyways,,,,it hit me with the saying we always hear by publishers, labels, etc,,,,to sound and be "Fresh" when presenting songs. So, in that way, I took Fresh Lennon, (which also Sounds GREAT, which I think is 90% of any lyric), there would be Fresh Lennon songs!.....That is the writer's fantasy,,,as with us to. We miss New, Fresh, Lennon songs, not having him around. Imagine that! Fresh, new Lennon songs! We missed out on so many, with him being gone at only 40.
Look at some of the Fresh Pop songs now?
I LONG for Fresh Lennon! (With STILL loving his songs of course)! Not stale!!! So, the best we can do, is write and record songs about Lennon, to have at least something be fresh in his name. I think this title and lyrics do just that!
Hey man,,,,hope all is great with Linda being home,,,finally! One car family for a while here,,,so tough to get anywhere with Cindy working. I will take her into work some day though and come up there to see you guys. Will ask a day before, OK?

Thanks Johnny, Michael, Travis, Lisa, and Iggy for checking this out. I'm always interested in hearing a "fresh" Lennon track, so this lyric was a fun write.--Shayne

HiDee ShayneMeister!
GREAT Job remindin' us how Great John Lennon Was!!!
&..while I don't confess to bein' a Yoko Ono Fan, I totally enjoyed the Depth..& often Whimsey..John Lennon could pack into his songs. "Steel & Glass" is one I've loved for ages..that never made it to the Hit Parades. (& I remember-well the Brief Radio-Run of his "Woman is The [naughty word removed] of The World"..too...);-)>
John's untimely, undeserved death serves to remind us all that the world's Peace-Lovers are always threatened by the Crazies..who lurk just about everywhere. That, and "Live It While You Can"...which...I'm Very Glad, John Certainly Did.
Thanks for Another GREAT Reminder, Amigo...& Good Luck with it! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan
