Bottoms Up Is what comes to mind When I hear your name I’ve tried to think long and hard And it’s a cryin’ shame So it’s best we call this thing over No sense holding on any longer Again I stand and toast to you, …..Bottoms Up At one time I worshiped the ground You were walking on, I thanked the Lord Most everyday for sending you my way My love for you was so strong I felt with you is where I belonged Was so young and when we first met But I didn’t know you yet………… Again I smile as I raise my glass Stand up , and toast to you……:Bottoms Up” Bottoms Up Is what comes to mind When I hear your name I’ve tried to think long and hard And It’s a cryin’ shame So, it’s best we call this thing over No sense holding on any longer Again I stand and toast to you,…..Bottoms Up Yeah, I’ll stand and toast to you…BOTTOMS UP Written by glyn ©all rights reserved 2010/BMI

I really like that melody, Glyn! You kept it lighthearted... I can just see her standing up, and making that toast, and saying it like a lady who has class, before she walks away! Nicely done!! --Jen

Nice sounding song Glyn. Glad you're getting to where you can do your own music.

Another good song. You've mixed your vocal much better in this one, it's a lot more forward. Just curious, do you digitally program your instruments, or do you physically record some of them?

Hi Andrew,
In these last 2 songs I've done them digitally only and after I learn the guitar will be using it the most, thanks for checking this out for me...

Hi Glyn:
This is an exceptional lyric and I like the melody. Glad to see you beginning to vocalize and "musicate" your own words. It is a long and difficult learning process... and for the most part, trial and error, even if you have read all the manuals and associated articles on all the elements involved. Don't give up on this one. It has potential. As they say in Honolulu, "Okole Maluna!"... which means, "Bottoms Up!"
All the best, ----Dave

Hi Glynda!
I really like the melody especially with this song. It has a Pop/Country feel about it and could go either direction depending on production choices/instrumentation etc.
My first thought after listening was I felt the song could use a break or two to give needed relief from the repeating melody. A short solo interlude and a bridge would also aid in this area to give the song more change-up which always adds drama to the song's ending when "returning" to established melody. Of course with these additions, you're going to add more time to the song. You could cut a measure between verses and chorus, as those breaks without an interlude solo are a bit long.
I like your alto sounding vocals, and see potential with a better production and mic capture. But more importantly is that the song has a melody that sticks with you! So nice work here, think about a digressing short bridge melody.
Nice job!
steady-eddie.
