Howdy JPFrs! After lamenting, "I wish I could write about my hometown, but not sure a one stop light town called Climax would do for a good song", fellow JPFr, Kim, started the wheels turning. After writing the first verse, I decided it was too much for my delicate sensibilities so I called in the expert, Beth. It's all in fun. If it was for real, I would have found a real singer and real blues guitar player. Any takers? Thanks for joining in the fun, Kevin. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=551052&songID=10308773This is the un-enhanced version. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=830133&songID=10308132CLIMAX ©Beth Williams & Ricki E. Bellos I'm going to Climax, Baby Say you'll meet me there Going to Climax, Baby Say you'll meet me there I know it's hard to get away But don't back out, if you care You'll love the road to Climax Sit back, enjoy the ride Love the climb to Climax Sit back, enjoy the ride Don’t worry ‘bout that stoplight It’s green most of the time O Babe, I'm getting closer Reaching Climax soon Babe I'm getting closer Reaching Climax soon Relief's around the corner It's time to shoot the moon They tell me some have never been While others just pretend I like to go there often With or without a friend But I’m glad we came together You know just what to do Sometimes I come alone, but Climax is better with you Sometimes I come alone, but Climax is always better with you

Hi Darrell, ROFLMAO! If I went any slower, I'd fall over! It was a lot of fun and the biggest challenge was to sing it without laughing. I'm so very shy and modest by nature, it's really Beth that's to blame. Thanks for giving it a listen. Ricki

Hi StevieB, Thanks for listening. A hoot is right. As soon as I read Kim's comment, I had a verse and chorus in my head. I knew Beth would be the one to steer it straight into the gutter. We all have our specialties. Ricki

LOL - I'm speechless too - and I've seen the lyric before Looks like you and Beth tightened it down some - small things but improvements nonetheless. This is great - I think you should send it to their Chamber of Commerce! Suspect it would make their day. And you already have a real singer The link took me to Kevin's page - so I assume that's his lead guitar and harmonica. If so, nice job Kevin! Scott

Hi Scott, Thanks, that's funny about the Chamber of Commerce! Really though, living in that town, you gotta know they've heard it all before. Yes, Kevin must have really been stimulated, I mean inspired, to take time away from FAWM to make these additions. Any one else want to play? Ricki

Hey Ricki, Thanx a bunch for posting this one. Naturally, I was delighted you felt I was worthy of such naughtiness and as always, you were a kick to work with. What a shame the kids are home on vacation this week...I sure could've used a road trip... Anyhoo, will be back in a bit to respond to all the generous feedback. Thank goodness we have a bit of a built-in audience for this type of song ... Beth

The musical intro alone had me chuckling. Wonderful groove throughout. What a great collaboration all round. You guys shouldn't be allowed out without a chaperone. Great vocals, Ricki. Love it all. Donna

Hi Ricki. I remember this when it was in the lyric only stage. The choice of blues is working with this lyric. I not getting enough dramatic changes in level on this though. I think the demo does communicate an upswing in the bridge but doesn't quite nail the last verse. In L2, I think "YOU" needs the rise and hold. And you need a dramatic pause on the last line. Otherwise I think most performers will get the flavor of this song.

I never dreamed this little crossroad I am from would be immortalized in a song, I enjoyed it!!! If you had added you take horneytown road to get there (no kidding) it would have pushed it over the top!
Great job girls!!!:)

Hi Ricki & Beth, Well, you gals know how to have fun… I like the harmonica and blues style you’ve added to it…ya know….it’s always entertaining to hear what you two do with a couple of words and a little melody…! lol Kristi

Hey Ricki,
Very clever mate. The way they used to do the blues in the 50's especially, to hide "sexually explicit" material. ( and way back to the 30's )
Nice one. It would be a cool song to play live.
cheers, niteshift

It's been a lot of fun, and I'm glad everyone is enjoying the ride. As for the Chamber of Commerce, that might be a good idea when they go to the State for funding -- what an investmen! I'm figuring the slogan for the town should be "Come Again!"... Thank you again! Beth P.S. Yep, that's Kevin!! He rocks too ....

The musical intro alone had me chuckling. Wonderful groove throughout. What a great collaboration all round. You guys shouldn't be allowed out without a chaperone. Great vocals, Ricki. Love it all. Donna Hi there DM! Looks like you've been busy with FAWM too...gotta do some catching up on crits... In the meantime, thanks a bunch for taking a listen to this one. Certainly the title was titillating (sp?) enough, but I agree, I think Ricki really sold the lyrics. Glad you enjoyed it. BTW, no kidding about the chaperone business. Since working on this one, hubby has given me a CURFEW!! Ciao for now, Beth

Well at least your home town had a stop light, mine only had a blinker. Kinda like your song going to Climax, blink, blink. What state is Climax in? Is it I da ho? Maybe Virgin nah? Well I had a good time listening and I know it was good for you. Maybe you could send this song to Mary Flower who is a local Blues gal here in Portland. But if she sang this one she might want to change her name to Mary dee Flower? Okay gotta go.

Hey Jinx, Thanks a bunch for stopping in with both generous and informative feedback . You just have to wonder what these founding father's were thinking when they sat down to NAME NAMES. I bet that Postmaster General was serving sherry....I mean what kind of a job is that..."Hmmmm, a new town...okay, how about 489...6...aw, what the hell, 7!!" Sorry for the digression. It just occured to me that we NEED to back to the lyric and add in something about it being "not too far from the BEATEN path!" Oh my! Anyhoo, glad you enjoyed it . Cheers, Beth

It's always a treat when someone references the lyrics-only version of our songs. If it weren't for Ricki, that's where this song would have ended (actually, that's not true, since it was Ricki's idea in the first place....so scratch that...and thanks for remembering )... Gosh, I'm all over the place today!ANYHOO, thank you for your comments. I agree the blues was definitely the way to go with this one. Have you heard the version with Kevin's embellishments? Regardless, we appreciate the visit. Have a good one, Beth

Hi Summeoyo,
Thanks for listening and letting us know the blues treatment is working for you. As for dramatic changes in level, I just about blew out my vocal chords singing like this, not like my usual mousy self. I guess I wasn't really thinking about levels but glad I got the point across anyway.
