Paul i've changed those 2 verses around..thanks glyn

here's a version with kids saying nursery rhyme before song

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9892146 *** with fade out music******

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9885725

and here's one without the nursery rhyme

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9885335

The Angels Will Rock You Tonite

Each month we waited, so excited
Felt you moving, as you grew inside
Could'nt wait to meet you
Only to have to say Goodbye

We were so happy having you
counted all your fingers and toes
So beautiful, you were so perfect
This is not how it's suppose to go

Well I want you to know you'll always be
Mommy and Daddy's lil' girl
We'll see you dancing in the starlight
Now you must go to Heaven
The Angels Will Rock You Tonite

We held you watching you breathing
So tiny and innocent
I prayed to God, how can this be
Trying to cherish every moment

We put our wedding rings
Around both your feet
So you'll know we'll remember
You with each of our heartbeats

We had dreams and visions of watching you grow, couldn't wait to meet you, only to have to let you go

Well I want you to know you'll always be
Mommy and Daddy's lil' girl
We'll see you dancing in the starlight
Now you must go to Heaven
The Angels Will Rock You Tonite

Chorus x 1 more

Glyn,

I think these types of songs are the hardest for peers to offer comments on. Stories of deep personal loss or of a painful experience like this song need to be written because they often give the writer or the listener some type of closure on a tragic event in their lives.

The image of the Wedding Rings is especially powerful in this song. It’s one of the BEST examples I’ve seen of a writer being able to SHOW without SAYING.

Thank you for sharing your work with us here,

David Reuter

Hi David,

Thanks for checking this out for me...I debated on putting it up or not...since I see this alot, being a Respiratory Therapist...I'm there watching these familes hearts being torn out uf them...for some reason I had to write this song...and I recorded it so many times and this time was the only time that I made it all the way through without crying myself..

I'm not a singer, just want to get my songs out of how i'm hearing them...thanks again David for taking your time to listen and comment....

Glyn,

Thanks for sharing this sad song.

Like David, I find it hard to critique but I will try...

In listening to the song, it was almost as if the parents knew their child's fate even before she was born. I never saw the moment that they were hit with the news. Maybe that is the case... But if not, there might be an opportunity for the verses to progress.

Also, verse 1 and 2 seem like they should be swapped chronologically.

Please know that I went out on a limb to give this input, so feel free to disregard it.

Thanks again,
-Paul

Hi Glynda

I agree this one really can't be critiqued. I have written a few of these myself. They are Cathartic.

I also agree the line with the wedding rings was very strong. I wish I had written it.

Some folks might say it isn't realistic, who would do that? But believe me, I know I would, from personal experience.

Hi Bill....well I didn't want to make it tooo sad, it already is a tear jerker...and I have seen parents take their rings off and put them on their newborns arms...wrist, ankles...this is so sad a situtation and it happens every second of every day..and at times there is no reason...just the infant is too weak to fight, etc...sometimes we don't know why they don't make it...

anyway I hope this helps and not hurt anyone...thanks glyn

I've never lost a child, and I pray everyday I won't...I left it this way, not saying how this one didn't make it, so it could fit many reasons, hope this helps in some small way, as it was intended..thanks glyn

This is a good write -- and I'll go along with every one else on the "wedding ring" thing. ... and you did mighty fine on the music. You have come miles and miles since those very first acapella tapes!!

Sad, but real.

Kevin

P.S. Work on the abrupt ending a little more. If you can't do it with the software, just extend it a little and then import it into audacity and use the "fade out" tool.

Kevin, if you check back, how does the fade out work, I can run more of the music to have it fade out, but how does that work on audacity and when do I click for fade out..before I start recording?...thanks glyn

Beautiful.

Love the wedding-ring imagery as well. Makes me cry.
I lost 2 to miscarriage, which was hard enough.

Losing later on is even more difficult.

Thanks for posting.

I like the dancing in the starlight line too.

Hi Glynda,

You're doing well with your music, good for you.
I also wanted to say how much I liked the wedding ring thing.

Thanks, Glyn,

No don't be sorry I sniffled! Be glad because I was honestly moved.

I'm all right. It was a difficult thing to get through but I came back to life again. We had our 4th baby shortly afterward and that was successful. He got spoiled for a while I'm afraid smile

I understand where it came from having the job you do and having to see this *all the time* - that must be so difficult to watch over and over again. My heart goes out to you even more for your tenderness and ability to serve in that calling where God has placed you, to nurture and care for these little ones, and seek to empathize and help the families involved.

Of course there are the happy stories too!!!

Your grandson - does he need any special help/therapy or is he able to go home soon? How's Mama doing after all those awful hours of labor?! I hope she had epidurals through that!

I had 3 natural deliveries and 3 w/epidural. (The naturals were not by my own will & choice but the whim of the hospitals - thank the stars I took LaMaze. Would I do it again? NO!) LOL

Have a great day, Gra'ma!

Hi Again Glynda,

Been meaning to listen to this...and so glad I finally did.

Let me just add my congrats on a very touching and real song here. Don't know how parents go thru a "late-stage" loss like this... The wedding rings is such a lovely tribute.

Thank you for taking the leap of faith to share this with us. The emotion in your voice is palpable.

Take care,
Beth

I've never had a loss like this in my family and it hurts me when I see this at work, if only I could take some of their pain away I would...and when they called me to tell me Alex was on his way and they were in labor for so long, just happened to be while I was recording this song...I think that put alot of emotion in my singing....thanks for listening to this one for me...glyn

HI Linda,

NO Alex is great, they went home today...i'm going up tomorrow evening to see him, and when Tasha is feeling better, they will come here for a week, so everyone down here can come see him...i'm just so happy it's finally over and they both are fine..and she did without anything for pain until liket the 30th hour...she did really good...i'd be asking for pain meds as soon as I went through the doors..shoot being here waiting I needed something....thanks glyn

There is an orphanage in heaven tended by the sweetest angels,
where the babies gone too early all are cared for till their mama's sail to heaven's shore. Then in swaddling, bright eyed babies, full of giggles and soft coos, back into mom's arms will snuggle, somewhere far beyond the blues. Lovely song~~~~MFB III

Love the grandson picture....there aint' nothing like a new baby to love.

he really is a great grandson, regardless of how old you think you might be. perhaps we can collaborate on "Heaven's Orphange"
a song of hope for all mother's who have lost a baby...~~~MFB III

There's is an orphanage in heaven.
where sweetest angels gather to.....
care for all babies gone too early,
amidst their giggles and their coos.

Placebo mothers rock themn gently,
in cradled wings, each fresh from birth
miscarriages and those aborted,
all of the sorrows sent from earth.

Forever young, laughing and bright eyed,
each baby grows wings of it's own,
just tiny stars across the night skys,
sweet butterflies around God's throne.

there's a start....you're turn...lol~~~MFB III

ok just my thoughts for now......glyn

I will forever rock you in the cradle of my heart
go now my sweet lil' one where baby angels play
Some people only get to hear about angels
we got to hold one until you quitely slipped away

so spread your tiny angel wings, fly to heaven
just one cloud away, where we'll meet again one day
follow the path of tiny roses leading to heaven's door
baby's breath and ribbons for you in a tiny bouquet

I'll think of you each time I hear the flutter of tiny angel wings.....

Don't be afraid my darling
the angles will take care of you
they'll tickle your toes
and soothe your woes, love you as I do

ok Matt I'm still thinking....does this help any at all....just quick thinking for now....glyn

In an orphanage created,
close to heaven's prettiest views,
where many soft clouds cuddle infants
God's sweetest angels gather to.....
care for all babies gone too early,
amidst their giggles and their coos.

Placebo mothers rock them gently,
in cradled wings, each fresh from birth
miscarriages and those aborted,
all of the sorrows sent from earth.

Forever young, laughing and bright eyed,
each baby grows wings of its own,
just tiny stars across the night skys,
sweet butterflies around God's throne....
waiting for Mama to come home.

Chorus-

I will forever rock you
in the cradle of my heart
as you travel my sweet lil' one
to where baby angels play
most folks only see an angel
when it's time for life to part
but me.... I got to hold one
till you quietly slipped away.

So spread your tiny angel wings,
heaven's just one cloud away,
until that great reunion when
we'll meet again some day...
there's a path of tiny roses
leading you to heaven's door
with baby's breath and ribbons
for you in a wee bouquet.

I'll think of you each time I dream,
of all the love we'll share,
your fluttering tiny angel wings.....
will always take me there.

Don't be afraid my darling
as God's best angels care for you
tickling your toes
they'll soothe your woes,
and love you as I do.

Chorus-

Here on earth I'll always rock you
in the cradle of my heart
as you travel my sweet lil' one
to where baby angels play
most folks only see an angel
when it's time for life to part
but me.... I got to hold one
till you quietly slipped away.

Sure, but you can post it too, I'll post it under lyrics forum 3 and you post it under lyrics forum 2, I will also work on some melody for this, if you wish, then if I can't play the guitar arrangement, we'll find someone who can. I am posting it right now...all you need to do is blue screen and copy my post to you, and then post it under the title: "I'll Forever Rock You In The Cradle Of My Heart....a Collaboration by Glynda and MFB III. I am glad you loked it. It's got heart and soul, and babies, how can it be anything nut liked...lol~~~MFB III

Glynda...

Really nice music, love the hook, as someone who is all too familiar with watching children die in the hospital myself, it is an honest and touching song.

Love the lyric with M. too!!

Hi Glyn,
Thanks for sharing this deeply moving song. I couldn't read or listen without crying. I have been blessed to never lose a child. I was in nursing school for 2 yrs. though and seeing the tiny infants in the NICU was very difficult. Seeing the pain of the parents was harder.
Congratulations as well on your beautiful great grandson!

A very touching story and very well done.
You do have a gift.
Good news and bad news
Good- I would have little kids saying the nursery rhyme.
Bad- That would probably break the hearts of the listeners so I'm not sure you want to go that route... I probably would but I'm not a very nice guy... LOL.
Awesome song, Glynda
Thanks for sharing....
On my 3rd listen and it gets better.

Glyn this is so nice! Congrats on the new arrival and on writing this beautiful track. I would love to hear the vocals with a touch of reverb and the gain dropped just a little as it seems to clip in a few parts. This is me just being a bit picky as I really love this track.

Great track!
