This a just a thank you from me to the brave men and women who choose to serve, or have served this great nation! Remember this, "The home of the free will only remain free as long as it also remains the home of the brave" Not my quote! This is my song HOORAH! ITS A SONG FOR THE TROOPS http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7915172HOORAH! Todd G. Strachan 2009
V1 From the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli, any where they're needed, that is where they'll be. Movin at a moments notice, putting their lives on the line, protect the states, and come back safe, for you I pray each night!
Chorus For all you do, this praise is for you!
V2 Many don't appreciate the job that you all do, standing between us and our enemies, for the red, white, and blue! Those who disrespect you, ought to be ashamed. They're entitled to their opinions, but they're cowards just the same!
For all you do, this praise is for you!
Bridge After I pray for you each night, I lay down my head. I'm gonna sleep like a baby, cuz I know that you're there! HOORAH!
Insert guitar lead here! Hey, I'm not kiddin! Are you hearin me??? Oh well the chorus is back!
For all you do, this praise is for you!
May God protect you, and keep you from all harm. May He grant you victory, as He has always done! To the brave men and women....HOORAH! once again. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, can't thank you enough my friends!
For all you do, this praise is for you!

Semper Fi....write or cry....I actually wrote a fourth verse to the marine corps hymn years ago...your song reminded me of that...it goes like this:
Our future holds much brighter things when Marines will march with pride, in cities deep beneath the seas, and on the moon's celelstial sides, and though times around are changing, and things aren't always what they seem, Our Marine corps troops will always be... The unfailing "Green Machine."
1971- MFB III
Superb write Old Dude....but not really that old, your just a salt with nowhere to spice up a war anymore.

HiDee Bro Todd, & THANKS for the Kind Tribute Song. DID help boost my Patriotism a good-bit. (So did the 2 FLAGS my neighbors anonymously left me yesterday..one's new..4X8 Feet..& looks GORGEOUS hangin' from my home's Flagpole today!) That ALSO boosted My Morale.
I've been REAL peeved at America's Bankers lately..and it's Politicians..BUT there's no denying America's Military Folks have ALWAYS come to The Rescue/Paying The Price. I'll be at a DAV Fundraising affair at 8AM this Sunday, doin' my share.
I don't think we-uns had a "Victory" in 'Nam...OR that we've learned to stay-away from No-Win Military Situations..BUT Like You I'll always Salute & Honor the Folks in-Uniform then-&-now who Serve & Protect. I've had some Great Military Customers in my Clock Biz...Gen Swartzkoph..& Tommie Franks..& they're the kind of Folks Who KEEP America Great.
(DO Dig this Song..WHY do I want a Budweiser after I hear it???)
Just Kiddin'! Keep Up Your GREAT Efforts, Amigo!
Best Wishes & a Big Salute from The Old Guy in Tampa, Backatcha, Big Guy-Hug, too, Stan

Todd,
Awww, you are so cute when you "Hoorah"....
Really great rockin song...where was the guitar solo? Who is doing that? LOL!!
I've done my family's genealogy, and what my ancestors endured in the Civil War, WWI, WWII and Vietnam....they deserve to be remembered.

Todd Thanks for the listen, glad you liked it!
Thanks M, my brother and sister in law disowned me because of this write. They can't associate with someone who views the military on these terms. Funny how they can take our freedom so lightly. I don't think we should be the worlds police force, or should we engage an enemy unless we are in it to win it. I would perfer that the troops were home and out of harms way, but it is what it is. I just thank my lucky stars that there are people in this country who are ready to stand in the gap for us. It is truely humbling what they give up, put on hold, and risk for the rest of us.

Thanks for thinking of an appreciating those who are willing to give up their comfort and risk their safety and their lives so that people, including your brother and sister-in-law can benefit from their sacrifice.
Most of the people in my family, including 3 of us 4 boys in my family, and most of my cousins and uncles served and most of us were sent overseas. This is personal for me and I liked the song and loved the sentiment. The enthusiasm was great.
oooorah!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for checking this out Stan. We weren't allowed to win in Nam, but we sure could have. Politics are funny that way. Thats why I say we cant be the worlds police force. And I've wanted a Bud ever since I quit drinking. And especially when I hear this song! I kinda thought more people would pick up on that!

Old Dude,
I LOVE these lyrics!!! I'm a soldier myself and I appreciate the support. We're veterans...not vetrans...lol...just messing with you...I have a sense of humor like that...lol...These lyrics flow well but PLEASE don't say this "praise" is for you. Say this "song" is for you or whatever else just not "praise". We volunteered for what we do and we know that we will be in harm's way from time to time. There are less than 1% of the whole entire United States who do what we do and that's worth something but not "praise"...give that ALL to God. Thanks brother...
God bless,
-LeeAndrew Bray

Doug all I can say is thank you for your service! It is really nice when the song reaches those it was written for. I wish I could get it out BIG but its just not in the cards yet. Thanks again Doug, and I'm glad you liked it! And that you took no offense to my choice of hoorah. When I wrote this I had no idea hoorah was army and oorah was Marines. Todd

Thanks Lee and I'm glad you got to hear it! I had this ready to be a Christian rock tune, thats why that line is this praise is for you. When I get around to redoing it I will make the change to song I think. Thanks for your service!
