ok I have a small hand recorder, don't have the instructions anymore..it's an Olympus Vn 100....does anyone know if or how you can download recordings onto the computer..don't know even if that's possible...thanks glyn

Glynda, I looked up the owner's manual on-line and it doesn't look like that is one of the functions. Your best bet would be to run a cable from the headphone jack to your computer's line-in jack. If you do this, make sure the Olympus' volume is turned down low.

Kevin, ok thanks...I record things on it when i'm not at home, and I trial run a song with music on it before I do it on audacity...and i'd like to be able to download what I had on the little recorder right onto the computer without having to resing it till I was ready to do the final recording..

Glynda,
If you do what Kevin suggests and start recording in Audacity while you are playing the Olympus, you will get a rough recording to work with. You will have to play with your settings on your sound card to make it work properly.
