Hi Y'all,
I'm looking for a decent soundbank program...or at least that's what I think I need.
I want to add some keys to my songs...piano, organ, etc. (I really love that hammond B3 sound!) but neither my playing nor bank account warrants getting an expensive keyboard.
So I'm thinking I need a MIDI controller and a decent soundbank program I can install on my computer.
Someone gave me a Yamaha Portatone that they weren't using but the sounds don't have the best tone.
Anybody out there have a Midi controller or sound program they wanna sell? Or if you have a better idea for what I might need...do tell!
yerz, Ellen

There is an excellent free plug in called AZR3 Rumpelrausch Täips for which you can Google. If your DAW supports MIDI, it will work as a virtual instrument. So just record a MIDI track with your keyboard and then use the download as a virtual instrument. It has all the drawbars of a real Hammond B3 and also has a bunch of presets. You can listen to my song Soul Of The City which uses it near the end.

There are loads of free VST plugins available just google......then mess around until you find the sounds you like. You will however need a MIDI keyboard an interface and some DAW software to help edit the MIDI tracks generated by your keyboard...try Reaper as a starter. You can however buy Cubase or Protools if you are serious, want the best and have lots of spare cash. Beware though most of these programs have steep learning curves are not user friendly for beginners and require a lot of tech know how.
