And now for something completely different... from the same record. "Here" It's only 1:50 long and probably not for all of you. It's a bit of an experimental pop piece that's very mathematical and silly at the same time. I keep the main theme maintained throughout -- just changing from instrument to instrument (voice, keys, or guitar) My vocals are structured for maximum "tension and release" -- I sing in a fairly uncomfortable high and low register in the verse, and switch to my comfortable middle range for the chorus. And then, there's the electronic sounds that switch off from blip-blip in the verse, to the smoother keys in the chorus (that carry the main melodic theme). It's a simple song that has a lot going on. I hope that you like it, but understand that a lot of you won't. Thanks for listening!

has a retro British feel to it with no accents -- but a bit punky and may be dancable. Thanks for sharing jm

I didn't like it. I LOVED it. I'm thinking punk rock when I hear that guitar but what's that percussion? Then all the sudden I'm thinking '80's pop. You have an interesting amalgam of styles and genre here and it really works. Very cool, Todd. Scott

Pop.....having attended some of the "Queers". "Ben Weasels" and "Rancids" concerts (my daughters' idea) I developed a liking to this type of sound. So I'm not one of them who didn't like it. This is really really refreshing.

LOVED IT!!! Cars meets Devo meets Weezer! Can't go wrong. I rocked out so hard I pissed my cat off (comfortably settled in my lap until this song, LOL)!

I am so surprised that so many of you liked this! I've been around these parts for many years and, it seems like this type of song usually slips through the cracks. Just not the kind of thing that most folks here are into. Thanks so much!!! Pop.....having attended some of the "Queers". "Ben Weasels" and "Rancids" concerts (my daughters' idea) I developed a liking to this type of sound. So I'm not one of them who didn't like it. This is really really refreshing.
redwing HA! I've been to see both Screeching Weasel (Ben's old band) and Rancid. Love them both. Never seen The Queers, although I used to play them when I was a college DJ.

Folks, Had to bump this just to say buy Todd's album on iTunes! In addition to the cool tunes we've heard him share on JPF, there are plenty more tasty musical nuggets to enjoy. What a cool variety of songs, but everything I've heard so far sounds great. I can already tell this is going to get a lot of iPod time for me in the near future. Excellent work by you and the band, Todd!! Check it out and buy it: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/chicken-on-a-bicycle/id349619310We're not talking good relative to the songs we hear (and people like me post) on JPF, it's just plain good stuff!

Now, how much do I owe you for saying all those nice things?
