What a nice gesture Glyn! Could you attach a chain letter to mine? Here’s my address, though the Post Office doesn’t like delivering here since several mailmen have disappeared on my grounds. 666 W. Dracula Dr. Coffin # 59 Transylvania, Romania 66666 I guess I should add I’m just kidding. That was really nice of you to offer. Best, John

Glyn, that's sweet. I don't usually send out Christmas cards, but tell you what--PM me your snail-mail address, and I'll send you something.

Merry Christmas, Glynda. Don't bother to send me a Christmas card-it's too damned expensive!!! Not that I wouldn't appreciate it. I would. Just you saying it is enough for me. My husband always buys the stamps so I had NO idea the rate had risen to $0.44 per letter. (I sent out about 20 cards this year not realize it was costing an arm and a foot.) I always pay bills online and correspond that way when I can so I'm not a total recluse-just out of the snail mail loop. I'm the wiser for it now, though. I'm working on Christmas Day, too so MERRY CHRISTMAS, GLYNDA AND EVERYONE!!! P.S. They're so ashamed of how much it costs and that's the reason they stopped putting the amounts on the Christmas stamps. That's my theory, anywho.

Tricia, they stopped putting the price on so next year they can use the same stamps even when it's a higher price. I believe it was called "efficiency."

That was sweet of them, Glynda! Still.....don't waste 'em on me. Joe, that's called Highway Robbery. I do know that it is expensive to run the postal system and they've never "paid for themselves". We subsidize them with our taxes. Still, I find it appalling that they charge so much per piece of mail. But, I don't want to get into that on Glynda's thread.

No need to send a Christmas card -- just a Merry Christmas wish is good enough for me. Any guitars or men under the tree yet?
Merry Christmas to you.

Glyn:
I've been meaning to reply for several days but get distracted and forget to come back to your post. Like Trish, my Christmas Card list is very small and... because it's the thought that really counts, I won't be asking you to send me one. I'm just so pleased that you seem to be feeling better. Save those stamps for paying bills and long letters to loved ones. Merry Christmas and may 2010 be a good year for you.
