Larry Hagman wrote a book and he is out here flogging it at the moment. I heard part of a sell interview on radio today and it was a hoot. I banged this out as a result. Then book is called Hello Darlin' by the way. Lyric is based on some of the stuff he touched on i the talk. being in AA and doing 12 step. Liver transplant. Little old lady hitting him in the face with her handbag in mock anger at his JR charictor and forgetting she was packing the .44 that day. Knocke him off his chair. Pretty dumb lyric but was fun and will see if i can get it good enough to let mky DJ mate have a laugh out of it. REgards. Graham Hello Darlin’ © Copyright Graham Henderson 2002 Hello Darlin’ I bet you’re sure surprised. You had me dead and buried. Here let me catch your eyes. You should have known. The slap from a forty four. Wasn’t goin’ to be enough. To keep me on the floor. Hello Darlin’. I see you’re comin’ ‘round. Hey Darlin’. While you’re on the ground. Well maybe later Darlin’. Would be a better time to do it. I better ask my doctor first. If my new liver is up to it. I shot the hell out of myself. The drink sure took my health. But that ain’t too much hassle. For a guy that has my wealth. I got a near new liver. From a stiff of thirty five. I tell ya what Darlin’. It’s good to be alive. Hello darlin’ Are you payin’ attention? Here’s another bit of gossip. I thought I better mention. I’ve signed in with AA. So I’m on the wagon again. And because I can do the two step. They say I’ve only gotta do another ten. Hello Darlin’. Are you with me? If I scared you I am sorry Hey. Did I tell you. I’ve wrote a book of my life story. It’s in the book stores now. And it is sellin’ fine. And you’re in it Darlin’ ‘Cos from memory. You, were a wife, of mine. ------------------ http://artists3.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Graham_Henderson/

G'day Graham! The second verse has me confused a little. Was it Hagman who was on the floor or the lady with the purse?

No NO No Jean. I didn't stick to the story. The lady wityh the purse isn't in the lyric. Hit with a 44 is because larry's charictor in Dallas JR was shot. and whoever the woman is fainted when he turned up. It was a slanty way of saying JR was an opportunist. Thanks Jean Graham ------------------ http://artists3.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Graham_Henderson/

Graham, nice lyric from a book story. The only thing is Conway Twitty's hit "Hello, Darlin" could create a fiasco for you on the title. I don't think the content is so much alike as afar as I can tell, but you know what they say about coming up with a song with the same hook as a previous hit. BEst wishes.

Thanks Sharon. As I wrote this purely to send to my DJ mate who interviewed Larry today, and have got no dreams of it ever geting past the fun thing to do thing I don't think I will fret too much about that. Can't say I ever heard the song you mention. mainly because i hear Conway Twitty's name mentioned as coming up I find something out of earshot to do if I can. I can't stand the man. Wonder if the same thing could be a worry to Larry with his book title. Even though this is just a fub thing by the way, i do hoppe to get it to music eventually and send the mate a copy, Mainly because he is then sort of bloke who will pass it on to larry and heck he may even like it. Seemed like a real fun sort of bloke to me in the interview. And as I am typing again. Jean I did make a not quite true statement there regarding the 44. I should have said I left it to the reader to decide if it was the purse swinger in real life or the JR got shot in the series that I was on about. Only those who know Larry wrote a book and that this is a spin from it will make the connebction either way anyhow. Regards.
