Tom: Yea, it is cool to just start the player going and listen to all these tunes while working. It's coming out as a nice, varied collection.

Kevin, Thank you. I'd like to ask:
Does anyone object if I put a note and the link to your station on the Mellow Melodies site. I feel special to be in the company of so many good songs there.
Would I have permission from each of the people that put a song there to use it on the show? I had fun starting at the top and I am working my way down the list to hear each song & they are all good!
Gott run to work now (that dirty 4 letter word)...

Ms. Goody: Yes you may link to my soundclick station if you wish (it's a public site, anyway).

If you need permission from each of the contributors to play their song on your radio station, you probably have to contact them individually (yuch!). You have my permission to play my song.

I like putting the songs on shuffle when I listen in.

Thanks,

Kevin

This is my most successful song to date, and yet was the one song I wrote as a direct result of someone telling me how crap I am. They may well be right, who knows. Anyway, some of you will have already heard this before but for those who have not, here it is. It is called THE LITTLE FISH.

Wow, Brother Kev, that's a Tough Assignment..."Just One". (Outta "Over 1500"...) I co-ed with Chuck Crowe a few years back with a Hot little Rocker, "The HEAT", that was & still Is, a Fave, & easy-to-sing. Chuck's Guitar Work made it soar... I (Of Course) Can't Remember alla the lyrics..but started off:

"Summer Sweat..Drippin' Off Our Chests/
Chevy Backseat..Never Got..No Rest/
Makin' Love was Our Endurance..Test..In
THE HEAT..We'd feel Every Time We Touched/
THE HEAT..Just a Little would Make So-Much/
The HEAT..Started Burnin' with The Wink of An Eye.../
All That HEAT..The HEAT...
Between You & I..."

& then Chuck KILLED with his 3-4 Tracks of GREAT Guitar Licks, & Back to The Verses Again...etc.

I'm not-yet adept at puttin' songs out on MP3 format...but song's Sampleable at <www.CDBaby.com/TampaStan> on the "At Least It' Somethin' Different" CD.

Other Genre Stuff that SHOULDA Been Hits:
"Deep-Down We're Dogs"..Country
"Where The Hell is Heaven?"..Inspirational
"Honk If You Love Atheists".." / Comedic
"Long-Distance Kiss"..R&B-Pop

(It's all There...at CDBaby/TampaStan..Somewhere!)

Thankee Bro..for makin' me Think a bit this AM!

Best Wishes on this Fine Thread,
Ol' Stan

TampaStan: Yea, I guess it gets a little tougher when you have 1500 songs!! If you ever figure out how to get it over to Soundclick, I'll add it to the station. Thanks for checking the thread out.

Mark: I added your tune.

Pongamoosic: Cool tune, got a classic Steely Dan feel (but of course it is still original).

Thank you kind sir. smile We honestly didn't intend that, and it's proving to be a bit of a curse.

Hey Kevin--awesome idea you have here. I'm really lookin' forward to going to your soundclick station and having a long listen to everything while I'm workin' in my basement.

Like yourself, this is one of my most recent. Don't know if it's my "greatest" but it's rather different from most of the stuff I write. I was wanting to write a "period piece" and love the vibe of late fifties music. So, this is kind of a homage to some of my favorite songs from that era--namely I Only Have Eyes for You and Sleepwalk.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7369042

1959
(c)2009 Eric J. Baker

V1
I've loved you so long; met you in 1959
Only eighteen; just livin' for next Friday night

And I remember all of the things we used to do
Went to the movies; saw Sandra Dee, Troy Donahue

Sea of Love, Lonely Teardrops, Mack the Knife
It was such a simple time

CHORUS
I wish I could take you back to 1959
And feel your body softly swayin' next to mine
Drift 'cross the dance floor and float across time...with you

V2
In an old Chrysler, I kissed you for the first time
The Platters were singin', Smoke Gets in Your Eyes

We were so young then, but we were eager to grow up
Where have the years gone? Surely they've not just turned to rust

We'd dance to the jukebox, gettin' three songs for a dime
Oh, if I could turn back time

CHORUS

SPOKEN:
Darling, we have left our youth far behind
Yet when I kiss you, it feels like the first time
And with your little hand holding tightly onto mine
So, won't you love me like it's 1959?

Santo and Johnny playin' Sleepwalk felt so right
We lived such carefree lives

CHORUS

Kevin, Thanks for your permission. I'd like to include "He Must Walk" & "Take Me Where Your Going" on this weeks show.

Actually I'd like to have you as my Featured Artist for September. You have such a varied group of songs and still have that down to earth sound with each one. I know my listeners will enjoy your music. Through-out the month I'll be playing about 14 or 15 pieces. (I do have a place on the Q&A page for you to see regarding my needed permission, but the post with your permission should work for me just fine.)

When I have your name up I'll link it to whatever page you'd like. just let me know.

Cool beanzzz... I am pleased as can be when I can help promote JPF'rs. Thank you for sharing.

Ms. Goody: Feel free to use any song in my portfolio that you wish on your radio station. I have uploaded higher resolution versions of the songs (256kbs vs Soundclick's 128kbs) at ftp://www.jkt9000.com/cville_ramblings/ . If you can't get to the FTP site because of security issues (some folks can't get to FTP sites), let me know and I can move those higher quality files somewhere else. They are double in size from the Soundclick versions, but still reasonable at around 6-7 Mb each.

Lemonade

I'm on the run
In summer sun
She likes to take it easy

I feel my thirst
But she comes first
And then it's cool and breezy

I used to drink to feel all right
But since she taught me day from night
It's out of sight

My Lemonade
She's so sweet
She takes the heat
And makes it into shady shade
Won't even think
About a drink
Just want my Lemonade

When I'm in pain
She brings me rain
Washes all the blues away

When I’m withdrawn
She pours it on
Splashing colors on the gray

I used to drink to feel all right
But when she switches on the light
It's out of sight

My Lemonade...
I'm a roman candle
Great balls of fire
When I'm afraid
And she knows why
I get hard to handle
When all I desire
Is Lemonade
My Lemonade...

So when I burn
She takes a turn
She's my biggest fan

And when I'm hot
She hits the spot
She knows I'm just a thirsty man

I used to drink to feel all right
Now I can tell the fight from flight
It's out of sight

My Lemonade
She's so sweet
She takes the heat
And makes it into shady shade
Don't even think
About a drink
Just want my Lemonade
And if I blow
She slows the flow
And when I see her fade
I hold her near
Beside the mirror
And kiss my Lemonade

I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree,
I don't need much if you're there with me,
A little fresh water and some food from a tin,
And we'll make love until the tide comes in

Maybe we can build a thatched roof shack,
A little bit of shelter so we'll keep coming back,
Beach our boat on the sandy shore,
Tie it to the palm tree, who needs any more

I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree
I don't need much if you're there with me,
A turquoise ocean and a fishing line,
Lay on the beach with a bottle of wine

Guitar Solo

No one on the island and no TV,
One lone palm and just you and me,
No World Wide Web, newspapers or ice,
I know it would be our paradise

I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree,
I don't need much if you're there with me,
A little fresh water and an ice cold beer,
We'll make love for as long as we're here[size:14pt]

Strong and silent
That’s his type
Doesn’t say “I love you”
Day and Night

She can feel him
Without words
Knows complete love
Is hers

Chorus
Sometimes love
Needs no words
Sometimes love
Can be silent
Needs no words

She can feel
All his love
With one touch
of his hand

And he knows
She’s his woman
Oh, with just
a simple glance

Sometimes love
Needs no words
To be heard

Feel the silence
Aw feel the silence
Of a love
That needs no words

Nice listen tonight. Stand out song. Good pop beatles hint to it.

John sang a great version of this one too - a slow, piano bar approach.

Still Making it up as we go
(c) 2007 by S.W. Campbell

You didn’t come with instructions
But then what good would they be?
You’ve always been a moving target
With a fresh scheme up your sleeve
And though I’m sometimes skeptical
I help you play them out
Cause your vision of the two of us
Is one I never doubt

We seek, we plan
We leap, we land
But it’s the bends in the flow
Where we lend and we owe
Still making it up as we go

Nobody gave us a manual
It would’ve gone out of date anyhow
I look at that kid in our wedding pictures
And he’s a stranger to me now
So in another twenty years
I don’t know what I’ll be
But the one thing that I’m sure of is
You’ll still believe in me

We shift, we turn
We drift, we yearn
But it’s the bends in the flow
Where we lend and we owe
Still making it up as we go

Baby we’re a work in progress
And our palette is still wet
Better get a bigger canvas
We ain’t seen our best days yet

And it’s the bends in the flow
Where we blend and we grow
Still making it up as we go

Man, How These Walls Cry

Through the years i've seen many things
Some I wish I had not seen
I've seen men come and go
Some go home and some go
Well, you know.

It's a shame it took this to bring me to my knees

It doesn't matter who they are
The roughest, toughest, meanest of men
With all kinds of tattoos
There will come a day when you'll have to bend.

You know when something's going down
There's an icy wicked chill in the air
And it's as thick as ice
You better think twice
Before you show anyone that you're scared.

It's seeping through the walls
Like fingers reaching out for you
Stops you in your tracks
Afraid to breathe or even move.

No one makes a sound
As evil floats around
But, at night , man you should see
How These Walls Cry.

My mamma reverd the Lord
She said "son you'd better be good
Or you'll go straight to hell
Well, it feels like i am in this cell.

Mamma did what she could
But she can't stop these walls from closing in
At times I swear I hear them talking
I pace the floors spend hours walking
At anytime my life could end.

When my mamma cried for me
I just laughed right in her face
Now her wisdom I ignored
Has put me in this place.

No one makes a sound
As evil floats around
But, at night man, you should see
How These Walls Cry

How These Walls Cry

Well, if I could get out for just one day
You know what i'd do
I'd get down on my knees
And kiss that woman's feet
Tell her I was such a fool.

I've seen a man kill another man
Just for sitting on his bed
Life means nothing behind these bars
Just look at someone wrong and you're dead

Yeah, they act so tough, swearing, cussin' and fighting
At night the damned lay still
scared by a little thunder and lightening.

No one makes a sound
As evil floats around
But, at night man you should see
How These Walls Cry

Moonlight Millionaire
by Goody Haines

Wanting the Golden moonlight in the trees.
Longing for the silver in the stars...
Feeling the coolness of a passing breeze
can almost make you forget where you are.

(chorus)
Cuz I'm a Moonlight Millionaire.
At the moment I haven't a care.
Though in reality, I'm as poor as I can be...
right now I'm a moonlight millionaire.

Just this little farm that we call home.
It's the only place that we've ever known.
Open skies above and land as far as you can see.
And I'm a millionaire just as long as your with me.

(chorus)

We had the long cold winters, then the early thaw.
Spring brought us wild north winds that never seemed to calm.
Summertime was hot & dry.. frost hit in the fall.
I know we struggled year after year, but with you I have it all.

(chorus)
Cuz I'm a Moonlight Millionaire.
At the moment I haven't a care.
Though in reality, I'm as poor as I can be...
right now I'm a moonlight millionaire.

Yes, with you I'm a Moonlight Millionaire.

Flight 687
(I Hope It’s Not Too Late)
©2004 Greg C. Brown BMI

Flight 687, Boston to L.A.
Arrives in half an hour, won’t be no more delays.
It's been a long time coming, I know she must be scared;
Well that's one bond I know we’ll always share.

CHORUS
The silver bird is landing,
My baby's coming home.
The years have all but vanished,
Her childhood's almost gone.
Together we'll grow memories
Like we have never had.
I hope it's not too late to be her dad.

Her mom and me were children who tried to grow up fast,
An empty, loveless marriage can never hope to last.
She took the child and left me for that New England shore;
I thought I'd never see her anymore.

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE
She's older now, the choice is hers,
She wants to live with me.
I'll do my best to make it work
And give her what she needs.

I called and wrote her letters at least three times a week,
Sometimes I thought I'd choke on the words I tried to speak.
I never gave up hoping that I would share her life,
Flight 687 lands tonight.

REPEAT CHORUS
No, I hope it ain't too late to be her dad.

"Too Little Time" Band recording, with Sub collaborating on the ending, and producing. Since I love to play bass too, (was in between players at the time of recording), it's just one more reason this gets the nod. Also, it gets air play on WSTW in Delaware, and covers the rules for this thread. I have better songs maybe, (Too Little Time and Just Gotta be Friends), but maybe not a better record. ????

Anyhow, I had to pick one, so Famous it is. Based on "Wings" just being formed. (Took some liberties).

"Don't Want To Be Famous"
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5513170

1st. Verse:
I can always call when I get the chance
And see my kids through my one ear
Then it's off to who knows where tonight
This bus is my home
And it's been roaming round forever

Chorus:
I didn't want to be famous
Just wanted you to feel this music with me
I don't want to be famous
Just need to play all these melodies
I don't want to be famous

2nd Verse:
Long time ago I didn't think fame would happen
You can never say never
When you're in the middle of harmonies
There's two ways to go
You'll reach for the highs and live the lows

Chorus:
I didn't want to be famous
Just wanted you to feel this music with me
I don't want to be famous
Just need to play all these melodies
I don't want to be famous
Don't want to be like Amos
Don't want to be famous

Break

I didn't want to be famous
Just wanted you to feel this music with me

Ending section:
I don't want to be famous
No, I don't want to be famous
Don't don't want to be famous
Nooo, nooo, yeah
Hmmm, Hmmm, yeah
Well, Well, yeah

I just want you to feel, I just want you to feel
Well I just want you to feel, (yeah)
I just want you to feel this music with me yeah, (yeah)
I just want you to feel this music with me yeah (yeah)
I just want you to feel this music with me yeah

Good listening and commenting, Ted

Maybe I should ask Brian to put the station as a sticky somewhere.

I like the idea that everybody puts up only their very best stuff. What happens is a nice listening enviroment where you are pretty sure it will be good. I mean I know all of my stuff isn't great and you have to do bad before you do good but this seems to be an eclectic group of music and all of it is pretty good.

Hi Kevin smile Thanks so much for this opportunity....It's
really a super nice idea. I have not posted anything yet...
because they all feel like my kids...and 78 of them are collaborative kids..posted at either CD Baby or Soundclick.
Most are JPF'rs. So I picked these and did an eeny meeny miney MO...

Creepy Crawly Furry Fuzzy Caterpillar Fun...with Wy Griffith...It is our most successful song to date. Silly
little song that it is.
Only September Knows..is my favorite of anything I've written but it's more bittersweet and it's an instrumental.
and Rosalina...with Jim...because well..I liked it before he became involved with it...and I love it now.
Eeny meeny miney mo...Can't wait to listen to everyone's.

I said I'd never put my heart at risk again
But here I am and falling fast
Love goes deeper..than your silken skin
Your beauty comes from somewhere deep within

Rosalina
Brown eyes that dance and shimmer light
Rosalina
No jewel could sparkle quite as bright
Passion flows through all you do
You're living proof ..that dreams come true
Rosalina
I love you so

When I look back ..my life lacked intensity
But now you make me celebrate
You're what I need.... warm and carefree
You add color to my old and fading dreams

Rosalina
Brown eyes that dance and shimmer light
Rosalina
No jewel could sparkle quite as bright
Passion flows through all you do
You're living proof...that dreams come true
Rosalina
I love you so

Share my soul
Then I'll be whole
You redefine...All that's beautiful..

This is probably against the rules, since I posted a song previously, but (love the way I acknowledge...and then blatantly post anyway):)

EDITED- I went back and deleted my original submission, so I don't feel like a thread hog anymore smile

This one is simple, but it's one of my favorites:

http://www.pongamoosic.com/tracks/angel.mp3

ANGEL
(Petitt/Cohen/Marlo)

Angel, why did you turn away
how did you fall from grace
and what did you fear

my angel you said no one really understands the pain
said theres nothing more here to gain
but i'm still standing here

in the shadows you hide
locked up deep inside
you reveled in your misery
dont you realize...it's only through your eyes

my angel my angel
you're sent from above
the light is the love that sets you free
dont you remember me?

oh angel..how you helped me through the years
dried all of my tears...
so that i can dream...

with you by my side,
i feel that i,
can conquer anything,
don't you understand...
i can breathe again...

my angel
my angel
sent from above, the light is the love
that sets you free...

oh angel, my angel...
set to the skies,
you were meant to fly across the seas
dont you remember me.

Let me throw this in the hat...I don't know if it's my best, but one of my favorites...

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=1016972

Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma
Do you know that I’m a star?
And do you know it’s all because
Of this ol’ guitar that you gave me
Such a long time ago
I named it after you
I thought you’d like to know

Dear Grandma
Do you know I miss your face
And peanut butter and jelly
On those story-tellin’ days where I remember
In your rockin’ chair one day you said
Know matter where you go
Go your own way

Wish you didn’t go when you did
You left all your love
In the heart of a little kid

Dear Grandma
I kinda miss the ol’ Sunday school
Wouldn’t have a God if it weren’t for you
And I remember – the 23rd psalm
And the change for collection

Barry: I can only add songs to the "station" if they are over in soundclick. You don't have to copy it over there, only if you want it included in the station.

Thanks Kevin - I'm going to have to send it from home, SC is blocked at work. It's there though.

Cheers,

Barry

This is an oldie but still one of my favs

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=1284974&q=hi

"Ten Miles Out Of Memphis" c 1999 Furbish

ALLENTOWN PENNSYLVANIA
WHAT A WONDERFUL SIGHT TO SEE
IT'S BIG AND BROWN, AND
PRETTY RUN DOWN
BUT IT SURE LOOKS GOOD TO ME
SPENT THE NIGHT UP ON THE JERSEY PIKE
PLAYING SPEEDBALL WITH THE MACKS
IT WAS A HELL OF DRIVE
BUT WE MADE IT ALIVE
AIN'T NEVER GOING BACK

CHORUS:
HEADED DOWN TO NEW ORLEANS
THAT'S WHERE THIS HIGHWAY ENDS
NEW ORLEANS
THAT'S WHERE
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER BENDS
NEW ORLEANS
I LOVE MY RICE AND BEANS
BORN AND RAISED IN THE COOL BLUE NORTH
BUT NOW WE”RE HEADED FOR NEW ORLEANS

10 MILES OUT OF MEMPHIS
WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS
WE COULD ROLL ON DOWN TO GRACELAND
BABY JUST TO RAISE OURSELVES A GLASS
BUT THIS OLD HIGHWAY RUNS STRAIGHT THROUGH TOWN
AND THE SUN IS SINKING FAST
SO WE WAVE GOODBYE TO ELVIS
AND LET THIS SUCKER BLAST

CHORUS
TWA, TWA, TWA
25 MILES FROM THE CITY LINE
WE CAN SMELL THOSE CATFISH FRY
BEAT THE RAIN OVER PONCHATRAIN
WE DIDN'T KNOW THIS TRUCK COULD FLY
THE RADIO SAYS THAT IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW
BACK IN OUR COLD N.E. TOWN
BUT IT'S 98 ON THE INTERSTATE
DON'T YOU KNOW
WE'RE SOUTHWARD BOUND

CHORUS

HEADED DOWN TO NEW ORLEANS
TO LIVE OUR LIVES IN STYLE
NEW ORLEANS
IN THE CITY SHAPED LIKE A SMILE
NEW ORLEANS
I LOVE MY RICE AND BEANS
BORN AND RAISED IN THE COOL BLUE NORTH
BUT NOW WE'RE HEADED FOR NEW ORLEANS
BORN AND RAISED IN NEW ENGLAND
BUT NOW WE'RE HEADED FOR NEW ORLEANS
BORN AND RAISED IN BOSTON
BUT NOW WE'RE HEADED FOR NEW ORLEANS

Added tunes from Pongamoosic, Barry Crannel and Uncle Steve. I think I've gotten everyone I can -- if I've missed any soundclick entries, let me know.

My submission Kevin

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=740403&songID=5691623

Girls and boys still dressed for a Saturday night
Others are wearing their comfortable clothes
As you read the newspaper over somebody’s shoulder while the lights are at red.

Tangerine queens head for the salons
To top up their tan and sharpen their talons
For Monday at work, where they’re going to be armed with a headset at mike.

Bridge

Graffiti stained shutters on the shops in the town
Say it’s not yet noon and I’m still coming down
I got my breakfast in a blue plastic bag
The weekends been long and I just want to get back.

Oh Oh it’s suddenly Sunday x2

CHORUS

And there’s old folks with sticks
And there’s youngsters with bricks
And tourists who want to write, something that might, on a postcard
Make the folks think that they had a good time

It’s suddenly Sunday
Gonna check out the sites
See who made it through Saturday night
On a slow bus through this no mean town it’s suddenly Sunday

Vrs 2

16 year old kids who think they need wives
That’ll measure their manhood by the size of their knives
In one year from now they’ll have a soul mate or cellmate

Who had casual violence the night before?
Who’ll wake tomorrow with the police at the door?
Who’ll have a red face when they walk into the office space?

Repeat bridge and chorus

I'ts gonna take me a while to catch up on listening to the others but i'll give it a shot.

CHORUS

I'd get straight on the phone to Quentin Tarentino with that one

WOW

Andy

If this isn't your best then you have a lot of great ones cause this was outstanding. There must be a country star out there that could use this song.Beautiful.

Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma
Do you know that I’m a star?
And do you know it’s all because
Of this ol’ guitar that you gave me
Such a long time ago
I named it after you
I thought you’d like to know

Dear Grandma
Do you know I miss your face
And peanut butter and jelly
On those story-tellin’ days where I remember
In your rockin’ chair one day you said
Know matter where you go
Go your own way

Wish you didn’t go when you did
You left all your love
In the heart of a little kid

Dear Grandma
I kinda miss the ol’ Sunday school
Wouldn’t have a God if it weren’t for you
And I remember – the 23rd psalm
And the change for collection
You slipped into my palm

Thank you Grandma

hey thanks for this great topic! it's pretty much impossible pin down my favorite or the "best" ever. but of the ones that come to mind, this one probably fits all the criteria best. it's fun, too (and they're not all so "fun" wink ) i also i like this one 'cause it's just me on all parts. It's written with live shows in mind - which helps explain the extended instrumental breaks. people go nuts dancing to this! (of course i don't play all the parts live!)

Dance With Me
by griff bear

http://griffbear.com/_vault/solo/soloaudio/dance_with_me_10-17-07.mp3

He struts into the bar room, lookin' real fine
'Buckle on his belt - it's got a brand new shine
From the way he wears his Stetson - it should come as no surprise
He's lookin' for some lovin' - you can see it in his eyes

There's an angel on the dance floor - dancing there alone
He's thinkin' to himself - he's gonna take her home
So he glides up right beside her - he says, "Ma'am, if I may say -
I ain't never seen no blue jeans - move that way."

FIDDLE

She says, "Watch yourself, now cowboy - before you're saying more
Better men than you - 'been laid out on this floor
But go ahead and take your best shot - show me whatcha got
But you got to know - I could never be
With a man that can't dance with me."

(CHORUS)
(She said) I love lovin' much as the next girl
Huggin' and a kissin' - I can rock your whole world
But don't you think it's gonna be easy -
don't you think it's gonna come free
This girl needs more than sweet talkin'
Come on, darlin' won't you dance with me
Come on darlin', won't you dance with me

She said, "Take me by the hand - show me your stuff
But I never met a man - that ever had enough"
So they shook and they shimmied and they whirled and they twirled
And they danced until he couldn't breathe
She said, "how y' ever gonna give me good love
If you can't even dance with me?"

She called for a waltz,
She called for a two-step,
She called for her fiddlers three
She called out to the boys in the band, "don't let me down - It's time to heat it up and let it all hang out."

BREAK / FIDDLE / WHOOPLA

He woke up in the corner - his head still spinnin' 'round
With everybody gone - it was time for closin' down
Oh, the barkeep' said, "don't feel bad -
Y' know, you ain't the first
And you won't be the last cowboy -
That ever hears those words"

CHORUS

... Come on back when you can dance with me!

WARNING:
Clicking the link below will automatically begin playing the song. And it's kinda loud, so please adjust your volume now.

"Ashes on the Water"

It's the song that more people seem to have picked up on than any other song that I've released so far.

Of course, that could change once I release my next album. (I hope that it does!)

This song is actually very well recieved by the people surrounding my area. Most say it's a "SOUNDTRACK" song. It's called "Found A Way"

Website:
www.myspace.com/raisingsignificance

Lyrics

Life can throw you twists and turns
And leave you all alone
I can let you in my heart
And be overthrown
You have entered my soul
Through everything you've shown
I wanted you to know.. I wanted you to know

You amaze me with your heart
So selfless and so pure
You take away my scars
One at a time you find a cure
God has blessed me with your smile
I'll never let that go
I wanted you to know... I wanted you to know

I found a way to love
I found a way to just go slow
I found a way to just hold on
And I'm never letting go

I found a way to love
I found a way to hold on tight
I found a way to believe in you
When I looked into those eyes

So as your listening to this song
May tears roll down your face
Cuz it was written with this love
That I'm needing you to embrace
You make me wanna be a better man than ever before
I wanted you to know.. I wanted you to know

I found a way to make this right
I found a way to sleep all night
I found a way to close my eyes

I found a way to just go slow
I found a way I'm not letting go
When I looked into those
When I looked into those eyes

Thank you for listening!

these kinds of lines ... where the end of one line rhymes with middle of another ... are just sooooo smooth.
