Well this song was well worth writing!

I would personally like to say a big thanks to all those who have helped me with this song, it has taken a long time, but I'm sure after you all listen to it, Wow, it has been worth the wait, and all the hard work.

The singer is Nel Straite, and her voice is amazing. Paul Nunns, the production.

I can't listen on this workstation but I wanted to make a comment about the hook. A couple of things came to mind. The first one was that this is the title of the Eagles hit of a few years ago. I don't think that is a problem but as I read the lyrics, I was wondering why you chose it because you are developing an idea with a puzzle as a metaphor. The working ideas are that a heart can be broken, that a broken heart has pieces and that like a jigsaw puzzle, you are attempting to put them back together. That all is working quite well but "get over it" doesn't apply directly to a puzzle. You even say, "Like a jigsaw puzzle, piece by piece
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna get over it, I'm gonna get over it". The metaphor is breaking down at that point because a puzzle is not something you want to get "over". You may say that you want to "finish" it or even "get it over with". Now when I listen to the song, it may make more sense to me but for now, the hook is taking me away from the rest of the lyrics. If I was asked what I thought the title might be, I would probably say somethink like, "Missing pieces".

Have a listen, and yes I know the Eagles have a song with the same title, I'm not happy with the title also, I was thinking of going back to "I wanna get over it", Missing pieces sounds great, I will speak to Paul, and we will decide. I actually discussed the title here, and it kept getting suggested that I leave it as Get over it, but you have just made up my mind, I will be changing the Title. So thanks a bunch for your input, Missing pieces sounds great, I will google it, to see if there is a title called Missing pieces.

One day, I'm hoping I will be able to give up my job, and have the money to work full time on singing and writing songs, I just love it. And No, nothing will stop me, cause it has helped me to become so much stronger, and happier then I have been for a very long time, and I', also hoping it gives other victims the strength to "Don't Give Up". I think you have to keep the title "Get Over It" - that's what people are going to remember. If you call it something else, people are still going to think of it as "Get Over It"

Good for you! This sounds good. Your singer did a fine job, though I do say I hope we get to hear you on the next one. Your voice was so charming on "Don't Push My Button." Reading the lyric, I wondered how it would sing, but it actually sang pretty well. Paul did a good job with the music. Good luck with the songwriting contests!

I am so emotional today, it's got me overwhelmed, it certainly has had a big impact on me, I was amazed when Paul emailed me the song. Nel has an amazing voice, that really gave this song that Professional touch it needed. Wow! Paul, the producer is over the top, very talented, just like my chum Mike Caro!

Wendy, I won't be giving up Don't push my button, as Nel, and Paul want me to do the new version, and we are going to start tweaking it on Wednesday next week, and also work on Kristi's song Heart of a storm. It seems like your pussy cat is dancing to my song, that is so funny!

Scott, I will leave it as "Get Over It", I really don't think the Eagles would mind hey, one day I would love to meet the Eagles, I've never met any stars before. Also what Genre do you think I should change it to? I have got it under Country Pop at the moment, as I am only learning about Genres.

Well I have to get off this computer shortly, I have an hour to clean house before I go to work for 10 hour shift. Good song, good production, now comes the hard part, getting it heard by millions of people, getting someone big to record it so it gets wide distribution and exposure. Many great songs never see the light of day without the right breaks, while some so so songs get all the breaks, the industry is not fair, life is not fair. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and get some breaks, I hope so.

How are you?, I have just got home from work and it is 3am in the morning, I'm exhausted, I haven't even had time to listen to any songs here, which absolutely shatters me. I can't listen now, as all my family is asleep. I am currently working 50 plus hours a week, golly gosh, I will have to employ a house cleaner soon, cause I am struggling to keep up with work, children, my cute hubby, my singing, learning the keyboard, writing songs, and cleaning the house. I need a holiday.

I'm awake, got about a hour, so I'm going to check out some other songs here.

Thanks a bunch hey, I have no doubt we will be definitely teaming up a lot more. I haven't met Nel yet, but I've asked Paul if I could meet up with her, she is absolutely amazing.

When I first started writing this song, I struggled, as when I lost control, I can remember others saying to me, yeah those words "Get Over It" even the biggest love of my life, my cute hubby, until he realized the trauma & the effects of what happened, was just something that couldn't be got over so easily. My husband since we have been together has grown in himself, and has learnt a lot from me, as to the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress.

All my little JPF helpers, there touches are in the song, my husband, my singing teacher "Picking" was her suggestion instead of the word Millions, also take out "It's still here" and I come up with "I'll do my best", the singer also changed a couple of things, and she also put her own style of singing into it, my hubby got the melody for the chorus, and then Paul well he just blows me out of the water, with the production, very talented, so yeah what a big team I have hah.

I will continue working hard on more, and thanks for always being so supportive, and keep writing and singing Ricki, cause I love listening, I have learnt alot since I have been on JPF.

I know this one was a struggle for you but it came out great. I'm happy for you.

I like the whole puzzle metaphor you use throughout. More important than that, though, you really write from the heart and that shines through in your lyrics. I think that's a real strength for you.

The unexpected chord change just before the chorus really works. That's a nice touch.

The production is stellar. I especially liked the vocals and the great guitar work throughout.

It is currently 3.57am in the morning here, I have just got home from work. I haven't been able to get onto the boards much, and I miss it so much, I'm working way to many hours, and averaging about 4 to 5 hours sleep a day.

Mark this song does come from my heart, there is still missing pieces in my life, and that's three children & two grandchildren that I haven't met yet, so I prey all the time, that one day we will be a family again, I have shed many tears. If any one had of told me what I was going to go through 11 years ago, I wouldn't of believed them. I went from being happy, to a nightmare, and it could and does happen to many. I hope this song will touch others, and help them to heal, and give them strength never to give up.

The puzzle metaphor, I love that bit, because that's exactly what it felt like. So thanks!

Nel Straite, the singer, well her voice really put this song where it should be, her touches, amazing. Paul Nunns, my producer, he always encourages me, and yes he has done a magnificent job with the chord change, I absolutely love the song, and I am so happy that Paul suggested to bring in another singer, as I am only learning, and Wow, what a good choice, hey.

When I first started working on this song, and we had the chorus recorded, I let a friend of mine listen to it, and her son who is nineteen suffers with depression absolutely loved the chorus, and he asked me, could he please have a copy when it's finished, I said yeah of course. I really believe this song will give victims strength not to give up, also help others to understand what it's like, and also to teach others to support someone when there hurting bad hey.
