That's a cool song.....makes me think of Delbert McClinton.
Might be a hair long for a recording......just about right for a live performance with a band and dancers.

Hi Paul, I just wanted to let you know that I tried to listen to this and all I get is what sounds like running water! I hear sound, which is encouraging...lol...but I tried it on two different compters and it's the same. Colin obviously didn't have trouble but I CAN hear other songs, so I have no idea what is going on...this computer is driving me nuts! Kristi

The vocals grab me from the start. I love the blues progression with a litle shuffle in there. The casual, loose feeling is very good - with both the music and the vocals.
Nice,
Tom

Hi Paul,
Dam fine song! Nice beat and pace and this, "ANd you don't mind cryin my name out loud". Nice one! At over five minutes, you may not need to repeat so many lines. It's quite effective once through.

Ricki: Thanks for the advice. As is with all these works in progress, this will probably benefit from pared down a bit. I am glad you enjoyed it and I'm gonna use what you said.

Paul! Fix the lyrics. They are very different than what you are singing.
I love the interplay of the guitar and the vocals. I agree with Colin about the length. I enjoyed both the melody and I thought the lyrics were clever.

Louis: I appreciate your characterization. I like Delbert a whole lot and am flattered that it made you think of one of his. Well I can take my pick here - I've been called Glen Frey, Gery Garcia, and Now Delbert McClinton. Not bad company...eh?

Michael: Thanks! As is the case with a lot of what I attempt to record on the fly, it never turns out as I want it to exactly. Its the same with this one and I think that that's what I love about writing stuff and recording it, the unexpected happens when you got your mind going in another direcion. If I wanted to systematically lay those intro licks down, it would not come out quite as cool as what I just threw ddown off the top of my head. I am intrigued that you caught that, cause as I listened to it i thought to myself hey these are prety cool licks. All I wanted was something simple to serve as an intro, and I got something more.
Thanks!
Paul
