Hey All, My brother got back from his honeymoon yesterday , and we were just "reminiscing" about the wedding, etc. I told him how cute it was they had taken dance lessons (DIDN'T HELP!) for their First Dance, etc. In turn, he said he remembered mine too... but then asked "what song was it again"? :o So you see where I'm going with this. If you feel like playing, I'll need you to tell me: 1. The name of YOUR First Dance wedding song (and the original singer, if applicable) 2. How long did it take you to come up with that answer? Honestly. Admission of needing to ask spouse, 5 lashes with a wet noodle .... 3. How much say did you have in the decision? Wedding songs are funny....some are very indicative of the times, others are classics. I daresay, this is going to be intriguing! Anyhoo, I'll start: 1. "Never Saw A Miracle", by Curtis Stigers 2. Had the tune, couldn't think of the name for a good 10 minutes. 3. 50/50....we went thru lists together, until we agreed on this one. Looking forward to some of these! Thanks for playing, thought it might be fun... Cheers, Beth

(1) I have no idea. It was 19 years ago. My wife told me we had to dance at our wedding, and I know I told the band to play a waltz. Who sang it? That's easy. It was The Dodson Drifters that played at our wedding--first time they'd played a gig in nearly 10 years. "Brother Bill" Howell was our lead singer. Looked and sounded like Willie Nelson, he did--one of the band's claims to fame. (So I know it was a bluegrass/country waltz. Had to be.)
(2) Didn't take me long at all to come up with that answer.
(3) See answer to (1).

1. Welcome To My World...Elvis 2. one second 3. I played it for her when we were dating and she said it'd be a good "first dance" song. So, probably 50/50. She gave me a St. Christopher medal with "Welcome To My World" engraved into the back on 9/1/78. I have worn it every day since. Tony

Hey Beth,
Sorry, can't remember, it's been 32 years! Don't dare ask either, too dangerous and I'm chicken. She'll remember though, probably one of Anne Murray's.

Oh my gosh, Tony, these are the romantic stories I love to hear!
You're lucky it wasn't "supercalifragilisticmvnklshtksl;hyioyhni" (you know what I mean!)
You and your wife sound like a great team...
Thanks for sharing, Beth

Hey Randy.... Oh my, no apologies necessary! THAT'S a classic response as well! I'm sure you're wife is just as fortunate to have you as her hubby...(and let's face it, Tony had a virtual "cheat sheet" with that medal swingin' around his neck!! ) And Anne Murray is a very likely choice, so good for you! Thanks for playing, and take it easy! Beth
